My landing page doesn’t suck anymore?

Just wondering ...

Some 3 weeks ago I got roasted here so bad xD even though I didn’t ask for being roasted, I was asking about growing my SaaS business ... but the topic changed more about my website design.

So anyway, after posting my link and with the feedback I received, I spend the following days/weeks tweaking/optimizing my landing page (homepage) and also “played” with the text.

Today in a topic started by a IH I asked for feedback about the design and the feedback I got ... well first time I didn’t feel roasted 😅

My website is now build with the Primer theme and its content is managed using Gutenberg + Getwid plugins.

So go ahead check my website:

    Hello Navin,

    Hope you are well.

I didn't have the chance to see your old homepage, but I took this opportunity to record a short video to highlight the different things I would improve upon.

    Notes below -

    • Prominent Hero section
    • Avoid using the tagline
    • Some kind of image/ screenshot of the software
    • Clear CTA
    • Go full width, make most of the space you have got
    • Align menu to the top, with logo
    • Avoid using tabs and have everything displayed
    • 'Why' instead of 'What'?
    • Try displaying tabs into different sections
    • Simple plans? try less options
    • Additional emails cost? Instead of how much extra I would be paying, how much I would be saving!
    • The last section should be your CTA

Hope you find this useful. If so, feel free to leave a comment down below or via LinkedIn.

    Best,

    Sebastian

    • "Best Email Service for You" , I've heard of many services like this, all are the best. Maybe leave that to clients to decide.
    • 98 % inbox rate is possible, but what kind of samples and emails are used to test it? Did you tried it sending words like "free", "coupon", "gratis", "discount", "offer", "SEO services" , "viagra", "cialis", "casino", etc? Did you tested it sending image, links, tracking pixels to see open rate, html, etc? Basically sending clear text without commercial intent triger words is fine on all tests, but anything else is coming to the mercy of antispam filters and setups, that is hardly 98% delivery, even half of it is questionable.

The test is done using transactional emails, so registration emails or invoices.

The keywords you mentioned, we don’t even allow, why test it? We don’t support sending of newsletters (it’s mentioned on our homepage). Also why would we test viagra related keywords...? We’re not in the porn industry nor do we allow adult related content ...

Best email service is there because we are doing some testing using different text on our Homepage

      Thank you

Good one man. Have you started making money on this?

    1. 1

At the moment I am averaging $17 p/mo ... But I am happy and grateful with my 6 customers...

    2. 1

Yes I have, but not so much though... had a few very very slow months

      1. 1

6 customers? That's good. But I think you are charging pretty less for the value you are providing, no?

        1. 1

I 100% was, but I don’t know if I’m still charging less with the current pricing

          For 10,000 emails you’d pay me now $10 ... Or $5 for 5,000 emails

          1. 1

Your first 2 pricing options does make sense man. Mailchimp gives me 2000 subscribers free, I send them 3 emails and I'm already in first your paid plan. What are your competitors charging though?

            1. 1

MailChimp plays a different ballgame than I.

They are more in the newsletter business, while I am (at the moment) more focused on the email delivery side, for example for online stores, that need a service that can deliver emails to their customers.

              My competitors

Well, their pricing differs, most of them are around the same pricing as I am charging at the moment.

I'm not against the idea of making money from an OSS project when adding a certain amount of value, even when the added value is in offering a hosted version of said product, but please give credit where credit is due, as I cannot find a reference to it on your website.

Lack of transparency will catch up with you sooner rather than later.

    1. 1

The project is not build with just one open source project, but many. The website is build with WordPress, the database used is Mariadb, both open source, server is run on Ubuntu, open source, mailserver is run with the one you mentioned along with additional hacks in it etc and many other open source projects. The code is build with JSON etc etc

I hope you are going to ALL the topics/projects found here on IH and give your complaints that you couldn’t find any reference to xyz and not just mine.

Good luck and I will follow you to make sure you police everyone around here.
