My Launch Prep for Product Hunt: Seeking Your Suggestions

Hey Indie Hackers,

I'm gearing up for a big product launch on Product Hunt and wanted to share my preparation process. I've read various articles and put together a plan, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions to ensure I cover all the bases.

The big day is arriving. I'm both scared and excited, knowing I need to nail it, but perfection paralysis is kicking in. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Plan (in advance): I started my preparations well ahead of time to avoid last-minute stress.
  2. Start giving value: I've been active on social media and Slack communities, helping people and building relationships.
  3. Analyze competitors and the platform: I’ve studied other successful launches similar to my product. I’ve also identified key upvoters and started engaging with them on Twitter.
  4. Build assets: All my launch day materials are ready. There should be absolutely zero guessing on the day of the launch.

  1. Schedule the launch for 12:01 AM: This gives me the best chance to reach the top.
  2. Outreach: I plan to DM relevant people who have upvoted similar products and ask friends and community members to support and provide feedback.

BESY DAY TO LAUNCH

  • Monday: Often avoided as people are busy with meetings.
  • Tuesday: Most competitive with a lot of traffic, but harder to rank top.
  • Wednesday: Competitive and hard to make the top 5 but loads of traffic.
  • Thursday: Competitive but less so than Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Friday: Less traffic but also less competitive, great for ranking in the top 3.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Low traffic, dominated by small indie projects, resources, meme products, and beta launches.

From various times and days to upload, finally, I chose Friday to do MrScraper's launch.

I hope this plan covers everything, but I’d love to hear from you. Do you have any suggestions or tips to ensure a successful launch? Your insights would be invaluable!

Thanks in advance!

This helps. Given, launching in Product Hunt is a big event in any startup's journey, planning for it is the key.

Also, if you fail to get into the top 5, it's tough to get a lot of traction. I faced it myself when I launched.

This struck me, and I'm currently building a community where members help each other succeed on Product Hunt by sharing upvotes and meaningful comments on each other's launches.

    What We Do:

Daily Support: Each day, our community highlights members' product launches, and other members support a few of them(that they liked) by upvoting and commenting.
Reciprocal Opportunity: Active contributors are given a chance to promote their own products when they launch, ensuring everyone benefits from collective support.

Do you believe this makes sense?

Also, anyone if anyone wants to join, please reply or ping me :)

Engage on the social media, write content and make video about your product.
and the most important share on all the social media.

Initial boost help you a lot to rank in top 10.

These are notion templates i built for my startup. This can help you to manage and organize your social media - https://www.startupkit.today/
