A few weeks ago, I released a fun GPT-powered project I was working on. It is a quiz generator game/app that uses GPT to generate fun quizzes on any topic you want. Nothing special.
To my surprise, I woke up after 3 weeks to see that it has garnered a lot of visits and usage, and even got featured on some of these new AI apps directory websites.
So I have decided to offer its code for 5 bucks on Gumroad to anyone who wishes to self-host it.
I have more ambitious projects in the workings and I may upload the source codes over there as well.
Hey Farouk, the GPT quiz generator hitting 11K visits organically is a nice signal - and selling the code on Gumroad makes sense. I'm building clAIssified, an escrow-protected marketplace for AI tools, where you could sell the whole thing (not just code) with a verified handover so the buyer trusts the deal. Free listing, 0% fee, escrow holds the money. Open to listing it there too?
Your prompt broke down, now it is violating OpenAI policy for some reason. Trying to get around it, I think I have a pretty cool use case for this.
Enjoy the 5 bucks.
Thank you. I'll look into that. I would appreciate it if you'd be more specific about your particular encounter though. Thanks again.
I have seen the issue; I am running the generation logic in a serverless function that keeps timing out when there is a lot of traffic. It's working very fine locally though. Thanks and let me know if you need anything else.
The prompt you use the generate the questions does not give a response anymore. OpenAI website says that it violates policy. Hence your site breaks down.
Is this locally or online? Coz I just tried it now and it's fine. And are you sure the quiz you are trying to generate does not contain some policy-violating content?
Sent you an e-mail with the issue.
I have replied your email. Be sure to keep me posted.
I think it is a nice idea. You can add some pre-generated quizzes to your homepage
You should try ads as well. Of course premium quizzes Saas is also on obvious choice but would need work to set up.
That's an interesting suggestion. Thanks a lot. It's just that SaaS's can be disastrously disappointing sometimes.
They can - you can also start simple on demand payments rather than a full saas (actually might be a better model for this). Do something like One Dollar quiz (marketing wise catchy lol) which generates a better quiz (GPT-4 rather than 3.5, more questions and options, more granular personalization etc) to test the waters. Can be a simple stripe payment link.
"One Dollar Quiz", that actually sounds neat. Let me start exploring then. Thank you so much.
really cool that you got 11k people to visit the site. I was wondering how you advertised it
So I replied to a viral tweet then I went viral. Here it is: https://twitter.com/faroukianoxide/status/1648822953914556419
yo, i can't code so don't need your product but i wanna be your first customer.
you got an eth address? if so, drop it here. I'll send you $5 in USDC on Polygon
That's very kind of you ♥️. I don't have an eth address. Thanks a lot though.🙏
I suggest you to put a sponsorship link. (which can be attractive if it build momentum).
(charge 30$+)
As it seems there are many related code outside that use wrapper prompt above GPT
Thanks for the suggestion. As it stands now, I don't know how to get one.
Write "This space can be yours for about XX$.." or something like that... try also to ask from other business that related to quizzes directly.
Interesting! Aren't you afraid they might take the code and make it a paid business?
Not at all. As long as they bought the original code from me, they can do whatever they want with it.
Dope, How many sales so far?
0 at the time of writing.
At least one now : - ) Ty I like the idea
Thank you ☺️
