I've been doing the marketing for my SaaS company (we find warm leads through monitoring LinkedIn engagement). One thing I figured out along the way is that simple SEO for a landing page isn't that difficult (or expensive) once you know what actually moves the needle. It took me a while to cut through all the noise and figure out which tools and tactics are worth my time. I pulled together the ones that actually work, and I thought I'd share them with you guys here:
Tip No. 1
For SEO keywords, you can scrape them from your competitors. List your top 5 or 10 competitors (the more, the better), and paste their landing page content into ChatGPT. You can also link them, but in my experience, directly copying the content + pasting it into ChatGPT works better. Prompt ChatGPT to help you identify the primary keywords or secondary keywords they use, plus recurring phrases that are present in each landing page.
Tip No. 2
Ahrefs actually has a lot of free SEO tools available (https://ahrefs.com/free-seo-tools), and you can use them to find keywords, check your website authority, or even check your visibility with AI answers. You can also use these tools to check which competitor has better SEO or website ranking, so you can put what you scrape from them higher than the others.
Tip No. 3
If you want to optimize your blog titles or even landing page titles for Google, you can use this website (https://mangools.com/free-seo-tools/serp-simulator) to check how they would look on the Google Page. If you want your blog titles to follow the right APA capitalization but you can’t be bothered to check manually, you can paste them in this tool, and it will automatically do it for you (https://capitalizemytitle.com/)
Tip No. 4
Google SERPs are also personalized based on history, browsing activity, and location, so simply pasting your keyword into Google can show you unreliable results. If you’re targeting a keyword and you want to see what the Google results are for someone from another country, you can use this website: https://usearchfrom.com/. Tick the fresh Google search to see what results would show up for people who aren’t logged in on Google. The screenshot above this post is an example of the results someone in Australia would get. You can also use that tool to check what the AI gives to your search query.
Tip No. 5
AI isn’t really good at suggesting marketing topics or sample keywords. Do competitor research instead and let AI help you with it. This is a bit similar to tip no 1, but if you want to know what blog topics to cover, search through 5-10 of your competitors and see what topics they usually cover + primary keywords they use. You can paste their blog titles or even entire blogs into ChatGPT and then ask it to analyze the content or suggest other ways you can tackle such topics.
