Hey folks, I've been building swipekit.app over the last few months.
Its a B2B chrome extension + webapp, built for marketers to quickly save Facebook Ads.
Recently it punched through $500 MRR over the last few weeks. Here's my main takeaways:
- Marketing. There wasn't one singular channel, but a couple. CWS is obviously one. An unobvious one is Reddit. Google Search is also ramping up and giving me customers. I also like to engage on twitter now and then, that provides a few customers.
- Support. Great support is at the cornerstone of Swipekit. My response times are pretty great(under an hour, according to crisp.chat) and I'm pretty quick with iterating user feedback into the product.
- Small iterative changes over larger chunks of updates. Something I learnt from Underlineme. Every week, I'd tackle a feature, make some updates to the landing page, do some low-touch engagement marketing. Rinse and repeat.
- Guarding my time ferociously. Bootstrapped founders have very limited time. I changed my habits around social media(bye bye IG), optimising my routine and got into a cycle of periodic weekly releases
Also, some meta stuff.
- Seems like it take saas businesses at least 6 months to reach $500 MRR (according to my research). I'm at that stage in under 4 months which is a great ballpark.
- Next goal is $1000 MRR. Currently I'm aiming to get there by July.
- Growth has slowed down slightly over the last few weeks. Not sure if this is because of the recession or some other factor.
I've wrote down this milestone in more detail at:
