My new podcast has launched!

This moment has been a year in the making... Last week, I finally had enough procrastinating, and decided it was time for me to press record on my phone and share my story!

I've never had an easy time conveying all the thoughts in my head through the art of writing. Now that I've accepted this about myself, I've decided it would be a good time to experiment with a new medium. With the growing popularity of podcasting, along with my obvious love for it, it was clear that this was something I needed to do. It's hard to create a side business in general, it's even harder when you're building them for an industry that you're not even embedded in.

This new podcast is going to allow me to document my journey with less stress, while also learning more about the inner-workings and challenges that other podcasters are facing. What better way to serve your customers than by being a customer yourself!

It was awesome to see my own show get pulled in to my project Clipps, and now I get to test out my upcoming product, Vivid.fm to create audiogram video clips as well. Getting to interact with these products from a customer's point-of-view has been a whole new experience.

I would love to hear what you think of my first episode! Then stay tuned because episode 2 & 3 are right around the corner 🎧

Awesome first episode and I'm excited about following the journey. It's interesting how disjointed things are in terms of building community. Like... a person has their podcast over here, there YouTube over there, Twitter, their Facebook... I suppose I'm trying to move into a direction where I have a SPOT for my TRUE members but... the process of getting there is an interesting one. :) (Random thoughts... lol)

      Thanks Casey!

I completely agree. I keep going back and forth trying to decide what my community "objectives" are. Do I drive traffic to my blog? my podcast? my project? my community?

I don't want it to look like I'm all over the place either. That's why a couple months ago I decided to scrap some of my other side projects and focus 100% on things related to podcasting. This way at least it felt natural to be sharing links on each project, referencing the other projects. From there, I'm hoping people just naturally discover some of my adjacent projects.

Just queued it up in Google Podcast. :)

This is dope you're starting a podcast. It's something I'd like to do, I've been on a few an have always had a blast. It's fun dropping knowledge and sharing stories.

I've actually built a video editor that turns podcasts into audiograms check it out. https://storycreatorapp.com/

Let me know your thoughts. Perhaps you could use it for a few of your episodes. I've built a powerful rendering engine that can produce videos like this https://s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/storycreator.rendered/ck8txnb8m0ixq0158jyct45z7?t=1586516289259

I am working on adding a bunch of visualizer options.

I just listened to your first episode. Sounds like you are on the right track, good luck! 👍

Curious about Vivid.fm, how do you plan to differentiate yourself from the competition such as Wavve, Getaudiogram, and Headliner?

Thanks for checking it out Daniel!

Great question about Vivid. I'm actually working on a blog post around a very similar topic. Basically, I plan on differentiating by eventually connecting all of my podcasting tools into a single "podcasting platform". This way I can provide customers with a service that is unique, and something that none of those other "singular purpose" apps can easily provide.

For instance, I don't understand why a podcast hosting platform doesn't build/buy a tool like yours. This way they would be able to provide both the recording and the hosting service to stand out a little.

My prediction is eventually a bunch of the podcasting tools out there will either consolidate in order to compete with big players (Apple, Spotify, iHeartMedia, etc), or just get bought up by those bigger companies as a podcasting arms race continues to heat up.

      I guess we'll see!
