My new product iOS & android! 🎉
I had an epiphany around June this year after 2 girls were sexually abused concurrently within the span of 2 days.
It was atrocious and everyone was disgusted as it began a trend "#StopDomesticViolent" on twitter for a while.
This has been the cycle.
The initial thought of Sety was building an AI that'd help girls, however after discussing with a lot of people, I decided to make it really inclusive as we have a lot of insecurities or dangers that occur daily irrespective of the genders.
I personally experience harassment by the police a lot of times, and it sucks.
And who do you call when the police are harassing you, the police 🤷🏾♂️? Lol
So I officially started building Sety last week of July.
It has been an exciting experience, getting amazing feedbacks and solving a problem I've experienced and that I'm really passionate about.
I'm running the company full time and my 2 products have my full attention
Sety takes your incidents reporting to the next level.
It affords you the ability to report and broadcast any dangers to anyone around you.
Sety also allows you to maintain a circle of emergency contacts of friends and family to receive alerts when you report an incident. The alerts will come as a push notification or a personalized SMS.
With Sety, your incidents are also shared with the relevant responders.
Details of your incidents, how to help, as well as your location, is shared in order to ensure the required support gets to you fast.
Sety was built to solve the problem of insecurity in the world and has one goal, which is to keep you safe. So as long as your incident is still active, Sety will keep broadcasting to new users within your specified mile radius of coverage and interactively keeps you updated.
It's a game-changer and I'm so proud that a product like this finally exists.

Sleek landing page! Regarding the product, have you thought about working with local governments? I see this as something they would help you promote for free. In Barcelona, where I live, the government is welcoming for that kind of initiatives.

We are really open to working with the government on this, and its an ongoing conversation we are having within the team.
We also have a section of the app done (and still being improved) that makes it easy to integrate into existing and onboard first responders onto the app (https://responder.sety.io)
We gave this a lot of thought and we really want the app to not just broadcast or send your incidents to your circle (friends and family), or people around, but also to the relevant first responder in your location so you can be sure you'll get the help you really need.
We have a few partners coming on board in our country, Nigeria, but we really hope to expand this as we plan to fully launch.

Hey, that's a great product you have there ! We had a similar application a few month ago in France, more focused on the sexual assault part. They faced a lot of trolling and ended up shuting down their services due to that. If you ever get traction on your product, I think you should really pay attention to moderate what goes through your platform, so this kind of stuffs don't happen to you.

Sure we're moderating all the incidents and reports.
Users can also report and flag, and if that happens very frequently, the app takes it down automatically.
And ours is a lot more inclusive.
So general danger, domestic violence, police brutality, etc.

Sety lets you add your friends and family to your "Circle" and really personalizes the experience.
So you will get alerts like "Your brother is being harassed by the police" or "Someone 2km away from you is being violated."
We also have a growing database of law enforcement/responders globally so Sety escalates your current danger to the specific responder.
It's very interactive, such that you're able to see how people are helping you in real-time, so you don't feel alone.
We ran an experiment to make it mandatory to constantly update users at the interval, keeping them updated so they know they're not alone.
And if any help is coming, they are updated constantly about the distance/proximity.
When someone is coming to help you, when the person arrives, when someone calls the police, when sety calls an agency, you're informed.
Also, we have danger reporting, like Citizens, but with a twist.
So if a certain danger is happening close by, you can report on the app, the app verifies and alert everyone within a certain mile radius about the dangers, and also alerts anyone coming to be careful.
We can use such data to map out dangerous points in a location to warn users beforehand.
It's also quite social, such that we're generating a sety score (our measure of kindness 😅), that you can share with your friends and family. It increases as you keep using and helping people on the app.
We plan to expand and build some level of artificial intelligence into it, as well as video streaming.

Mobile App React native
Admin dashboard (HTML/PHP) - this will be done in react js too
Responders web app (React JS)
Nice! Very modern stack. I recommend eventually moving to a SQL DB and away from Mongo eventually. Mongo is great for startups but as your product gets more complicated, SQL based databases will be much better for answering business questions from your data. Great job overall!
