Hi,
I'd be interested to know what's your current experience with live chat and customer messaging in general.
What I'm building: Parle an all-in-one customer communication platform.
Stage: First core feature ready, the live chat component. I'm manually onboarding users.
Next up: Behavior-based campaign messaging. Letting visitors/customers enter into campaigns and exit based on tags/events.
Back story: I wanted to build this for a decade but never had the courage to do so. In 2007 I published an open source live chat component. In the last 2 years I've heard way too many people complained about their Intercom monthly cost going crazy, like 2-3-4x. I decided to enter that market.
I wanted to have reached a certain milestone before starting talking about it. Having failed to launch worthy products since Roadmap, I wanted to take some time alone for that one.
If you need a tool like this please do not hesitate to reach out, it's a great time to join I think, I'm updating the app weekly, but it's stable.
Monthly costs go through the roof but also it's a heavy load on the website when core web vitals are important and load speeds = $$...
How does your chat load compared to them and does it require a lot of outside resources/scripts?
I've not compared yet, the initial asset loaded is 350kb (not yet gziped)
I've not put much into optimization yet. But I agree that in addition to costs, it's a great selling point.
Thanks for your feedback.
