My next adventure: WhatsApp Widget & Lead Capture (SaaS, Freemium)

Hey guys! In 2022, I created and sold an investor data company. In 2023, I'm in the final stages of developing my next application: a Freemium SaaS.

You know those WhatsApp buttons on websites where you're redirected to a direct conversation with an agent when you click on them? They have their flaws. Let me explain:

  • By clicking on the WhatsApp button on websites, you miss out on collecting crucial lead information such as phone number and email. These are data points that you can often use on other platforms to better segment your advertisements.
  • Continuing with the lack of data collection, there are times when the lead doesn't have access to WhatsApp Web, for example, and that lead will be lost. By capturing data BEFORE redirecting to WhatsApp, you ensure that you can reach out again through other triggers.
  • Several companies have more than one customer service representative, each with their own WhatsApp number. It becomes challenging to distribute leads equally among each representative without manual work.

The idea is to allow companies to capture lead data BEFORE using WhatsApp, enabling them to use this data for more targeted marketing, such as through Google Ads or Facebook Ads. It could even be used for cart recovery based on user data.

The platform is 90% ready, with a dashboard providing information on chat open rates, view rates, and conversions.

My next venture is highly niche, but there is demand, including from another one of my companies, to use the system. In other words, I will be my first client.

As mentioned, I have already planned the initial pricing of the system, offering a free and unlimited tier for small businesses to use without any hesitation.

Speaking of the platform as a whole (and almost like a pitch), here are the benefits:

A Freemium platform where the company can generate a WhatsApp button for their website that:

  • Collects the customer's name, email, and phone number (when configured) before being redirected to WhatsApp.
  • Maintains important information such as WhatsApp open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
  • Automatically redirects each lead to the respective company representative (when there is more than one representative).
  • Provides a dashboard with all the information on converted leads and an option to export data for use in other platforms (such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.).

    Hi, did you launch this tool? We have something very similar at tochat.be
    we do similar development for users and agencies working with Google Ads and Meta Ads and they need to capture the lead before going to WhatsApp to generate conversions. take a look and let me know what do you think.
