My poor man's UI/UX Design stack, what about you?
I started a poor man's Growth Stack post on IH exactly a month ago, now I would like to celebrate UI/UX design as well!
I really like UI/UX design even I'm not a design professional & not trained from school. I pick up & self-taught the skill around 3 years ago when I need sufficient design for a side project. After some search and talking, I was like... why don't I do it by myself.
I started to read case studies on Medium, some practice, get my hands dirty. Long story short, I'm now teaching design Bootcamp, do freelance and mentoring at Hackathon. Really enjoyed :)

I've been a fan of Figma.com lately.
Figma is nice! I like the sharing feature a lot for when I want a second opinion from another human.

A book that totally changed the way I designed, early on in my career (I'm 9 years UX and UI now) is Steve Krugs Don't Make Me Think. It's written entirely for non-researchers to be a guide to designing and researching products. It's honestly brilliant.
Also, there's a lot of books by Luke Wroblowski that are very good. But his talks on YouTube are excellent examples of how customer data can and should inform design.

As an aside - it was a conversation between Jared Spool and Luke Wroblowski where they spoke about the 300 million dollar button (Google it!). It's an amazing article and I believe still the whole reason why UX is it's own discipline, as opposed to something that designers do.
