My product was cloned before I even launched it. Now I finally know what to build

Hey IH community, Felix here.

You know that feeling when you're working heads-down on your product, polishing every detail, dreaming about launch day? I've been living that reality with my project, PromptPilot.

Well, today I learned I wasn't alone.

A major corporation in another market decided they loved PromptPilot so much, they didn't just copy the features I've built. They copied the name. They even "innovated" by building some of the future features I had only dreamed of and planned for.

They cloned my present and my future, all before I even had a chance to properly launch.

For a moment, it felt like a knockout punch. The frustration is real. How can a solo developer compete with that?

But then, after the initial shock, something became crystal clear.

They can clone a feature list, but they can't clone a soul. They can replicate a UI, but they can't replicate a community. They can build a product, but they can't build a relationship with users like @Gary, @AlexWest, and all of you who have given me priceless feedback.

Most importantly, they saw my initial idea and thought it was the finish line. They have no idea it was just the starting block.

This "clone" is a generic tool for the masses. That's their game. And I'm deciding today not to play it.

My new focus, my obsession, is to build what they will never dare to build: a deep, powerful, and opinionated Prompt Ops System for professional teams. Think Git-for-prompts, version control, CI/CD integration, and robust analytics. A true, pro-level developer tool.

So, ironically, I have to thank them. They showed me the path I shouldn't take and forced me to double down on the one I was most passionate about. They've taken the low road, which leaves the high road wide open for me.

The journey just got 10x harder, but also 10x clearer.

This isn't a story of defeat. This is my origin story.
