My progress with 30x500 (including some stats :-D)

My 30x500 journey started in January with this question here on IH. I started a couple of projects before but none of them were successful for various reasons. So I decided to take a step back and loo

Also how did you decide on your niche? target audience and topic etc.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! There are three criteria for the target audience in 30x500: They need to be professionals (pay for stuff), hang out in online communities and you need to be a part of this audience. This way you're sure that you can earn money with your future product, you can analyze the pains without interfering and you know the topics you'll write about already and don't need to invest a lot of time in learning.

I was working with GraphQL and React for a couple of years already. I like both technologies a lot and I'm getting paid by clients to work with them. Since GraphQL is still pretty young I also figured that there might be some easy-to-find gaps. The last point shouldn't be very important though.

If you have more questions feel free to ask :-)

    Cool insights, thanks!

What's your biggest challenge at the moment?
And are you using any tool (like Grammarly) to assist you in writing the articles as a non-native english speaker?

Good question! One big challenge is to find places where the community hangs out (they call it watering holes) and discussions take place. I'm looking a lot at spectrum communities currently. These are kind of active but there are not too many discussions which you can deeply analyze for pains. The GraphQL community on Reddit mostly shares blog posts so it's also not very suitable. So I'm still looking for different watering holes.

And yes, I use Grammarly. It helps me a lot to correct my content. I'm thinking about trying out a pro-subscription. Maybe that could help to diversify my language

Thanks for sharing your blog. How is it going with your email list?

I'm not sure yet what it will be but I can imagine a short ebook. But I guess first I have to write more content to find out what really interests people. It's also a great exercise to learn how to communicate with the audience and find their pains.
