My SaaS hit $9k ARR Took me 188 days and 2 failed projects

Hi all! Today is a good day for me! I made a sale for $69 and finally crossed $9k ARR! I built my SaaS 2024 February 10th, it's been 188 days so far.

My idea is simple, was built around my own problem, reddit growth and marketing! So i made a clear landing page, got my first sale even before i launched!

So far, i can advise to all people who are about to launch:

- set the price LOW, then you can adjust it according to a demand

- don't add too much fancy stuff, the more simple it's, the better it may perform!

- try to reach to each client, ask for feedback, analyze the requests and ship it fast

- don't fake testimonials when you launch, give free access to 3-4 people, get your reviews that way

- make posts about your product 3 DAYS before the actual launch, it helped me to land my first ever sale!

Congrats on crossing $9k ARR that’s a impressive milestone. I really like the advice on keeping the product simple and pricing low early. I’ve been working on a small tool myself (tracking repeat mistakes and breaking cycles) and your point about shipping fast + asking for feedback really hit home. I am building hours each day but still struggling with reach.

Quick question for you: once you passed the $5k ARR mark, did you notice anything change in how customers discovered you? Or was it still mostly direct outreach and posting?

    Congrats on shipping!

A few concrete ideas that tend to move the needle on early adoption:

    1) Above-the-fold clarity

Who + outcome + time/effort. Formula that works:

    “For ___, get ___ in ___ minutes — without ___.”

    Keep one CTA.

    2) Visual proof

    Add a 20–30s GIF or a 3-screenshot strip (before → key action → after).

People scan visuals first; it answers “what does it actually do?”

    3) First-run activation

Aim for a 60-second “first success.” On first run, guide me through one tiny task and celebrate it.

    Track first_run → first_success conversion (target ≥60%).

    4) Micro-segmentation on signup

    Ask 2 quick questions (radio/dropdown):

    • primary use case / job-to-be-done

    • current workaround / pain

This feeds copy, onboarding paths, and later pricing.

    5) Trust & privacy

One line on what you collect (or don’t), and a visible “Feedback” entry. Reduces friction a lot.

    6) Pricing signal (lightweight)

    Keep Free generous enough to feel the core value;

gate the “power” features or higher frequency. Add a one-click “I’d pay $__/mo if it solves X” on the thank-you page.

    7) Instrumentation

    Name events with verbs: cta_click, signup_success, first_success, retained_d1/d7.

You’ll know whether copy or onboarding changes actually helped.

If you share the ICP and top 3 use cases, I’m happy to suggest headline variants. Nice work getting it out!

I’ve just started working on overseas products too. Your advice is really helpful and means a lot to me. Thank you!
