My side-project hit #2 on Product Hunt. Anyone want to take it over?

I launched MailThis in Spring 2020.

I was stuck at home during COVID quarantine. I needed to send something in the (real) mail, but I had no ink or paper to print it out.

So I created a way to send any PDF via snail-mail right from your browser. Just upload a document, pay postage, and send.

The site had thousands of visitors and hundreds of users in the first month, but I had no time to follow-up. I keep busy with another, much bigger project.

Anyone want to take this over?

No strong metrics to speak of. Just a working product.

I'm not sure. Make an offer!

How does it work? Is it using some sort of API for snail mail service? Or you are mailing a printed page by hand?

    1. 1

Yes, uses an API. Everything is 100% automatic. I often don't even notice that people are using it until I go back and look at the monthly metrics.

This looks like a pretty cool idea. What’s required for someone to maintain it? Is it a profitable product?

    1. 1

Maintenance just a few minutes a month, if that.

Yes, it's profitable. But very low volume.

        try posting it on microacquire?

        1. 1

I did, actually. Found the process overwhelming. Got like 50 inquiries, most of which weren't very serious.

This was almost a year ago, and I think the platform has improved dramatically even since then. I'll take another look.
