My soft launch didn't go as planned

I launched my app Neatly this week and thought I'd take it easy.

I sent out an email to my waiting list (~230 people) and decided to wait for some feedback before doing any more marketing.

I got antsy.

I posted Neatly on Show HN yesterday not expecting much. I'm pretty sure it lead to Neatly getting hunted on ProductHunt today. It's a holiday here in Israel and it took me a good 5 hours before I even noticed!

Now I'm scrambling, adding a welcome email to new signups and waiting to get approved by PH as the maker for Neatly.

This throws off my marketing plans, but I've learned you should always be happy with any organic marketing, even if it catches you off-guard.

BTW, you can see the PH post here: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/neatly

    Nice results, congrats!
Do you already have a working product? How many signups do you have (if it's not a secret)?
How did you build your mailing list?
    Thanks!

Thanks! Just released the working product on Monday. I have 102 users as of this morning.

To be honest, I didn't do much up until now. I put most of my effort into making sure my website copy is clear and compelling. I think this effort has paid off nicely based on people's reaction to visiting.

For list building - I posted Neatly on betalist.com, again focusing on creating good copy in my post. It became a top 3 trending app of the week and was responsible for most of my list. I also posted on LinkedIn which helped a little as well.

Since then, I posted Neatly on Show HN (got 99 visitors & I think ~15 users) which I believe led to someone hunting Neatly on PH.
