My Solo Journey to Building Simulit - Improving User Interviews with AI

Hey fellow IndieHackers! πŸ‘‹
I'm diving deep into a solo journey of developing an AI-powered platform, Simulit, aimed at automating user interviews. I've decided to build this product openly, sharing every step, struggle, and success along the way. Here's a glimpse into the first 5 days of my journey, from ideation to the current stage, and I'm eager to get your insights, feedback, and maybe even some collaboration!

Engaging the Community

I kicked off this journey with a bit of mystery and engagement, not sharing the problem I was tackling from the beginning. The goal was simple: boost engagement and involve the community right from the start. It was more than just building a product; it was about creating a journey.

Day 1: Who is Our Customer?

The first step was to identify our customer. I started with market segmentation, crafted detailed buyer personas, and analyzed the Total Addressable Market (TAM). The insights and recommendations from my followers were great, shaping a clearer picture of who we're building Simulit for.

Day 2: Validating the Problem

Validation is key, isn't it? I explored various online communities, engaged in discussions, and directly reached out to potential users to confirm the existence and significance of the problem Simulit aims to solve. Tools like SparkToro, ChatGPT, and good old Google were my allies in this quest. But validating the idea is not done in a day so I am continuing conversations, collecting waitlist sign ups and will try to get some pre sales before building.

Day 3: Competitor and Keyword Research

Understanding the competitive landscape and identifying relevant keywords was next. I analyzed competitors, especially those leveraging AI, and conducted keyword research to uncover market trends. This step was crucial, offering clear insights into the market and validating the direction of my project.

Day 4: Introducing Simulit

I'm thrilled to officially introduce Simulit to the IndieHackers community! Simulit is designed to transform how user interviews are conducted, providing insights within seconds through human-like conversations. I've launched a waitlist landing page and am now focusing on building a community of early adopters and gathering feedback.

Day 5: Spreading the Word (Today!)

Raising awareness for Simulit has been my latest focus. I'm crafting posts to resonate on various platforms, aiming to engage potential users and gather support. Your insights and feedback have been the cornerstone of this journey, and I'm excited to see where this momentum will take us.

Conclusion

This journey from a vague idea to something hopefully game-changing will be incredible. Each day brings new challenges and insights, deepening the connection with this supportive community. I invite you all to join me as I continue to develop Simulit, share your feedback, and maybe even collaborate on this exciting project.
