Hi IH!
So I was co-founding a startup with a team of three and it was beautiful. However, we had to pivot and all hell broke loose as we lost structure and couldn't agree on what to do next.
We eventually decided to part ways and I have been working solo on my own startup for about 2 months.
Last week, I approached someone who seems like a good fit for a cofounder (worked on a startup in a similar niche). We haven't met before, but we're both in the same startup incubator. She loves the idea and is overall a very energetic, outgoing, and devoted person.
Now I know you should only start companies with lifelong best friends or after you went on 50+ dates with them, but I'm in a time squeeze and need a cofounder ASAP.
My biggest criteria right now are commitment and flexibility. What should I also look for? Are there any red flags I should look out for? Am I gonna regret this decision down the road?
Anything helps!
tl;dr How can I find the right cofounder for my startup in the shortest amount of time possible?
It's worth pointing out that my previous team decided to part ways ON GOOD TERMS because we had different goals for the startup. They're awesome people and we're still friends today.
