NanoBanana or Seedream4.0? Why Choose When You Can Have Both

Recently, Google’s Nano Banana and ByteDance’s Seedream4.0 have become hot topics in the AI creative community.

Many are debating which is superior, but my go-to design platform, Textideo, integrates both models seamlessly. Previously, I had to switch between platforms, which made testing fragmented and inefficient. Now, I can compare models directly within a single platform, eliminating the need to choose.

Once you create a project, the chat window is on the left and the canvas on the right. After uploading images, you can select any image in a small preview window to specify detailed requests, making the creative process faster and more efficient.

Description

E-commerce Use Case

In e-commerce, selecting models and arranging scenes often requires significant time and budget. Increasingly, brands are turning to AI to generate product images, especially when large volumes are needed.

Example: I uploaded two reference images—a girl holding a phone and the newly released iPhone 17 (I’m particularly fond of the lavender color).

  • Using Seedream4.0 to replace the phone, the color was slightly off.
  • Using Nano Banana, the result was smooth, natural, and true to the original color.

With Textideo, you can test multiple models and pick the one that fits your needs perfectly. Why choose one when you can have them all?

Figure Modeling

Nano Banana has been a hit since its release.

Example: I used Seedream4.0 and Nano Banana to create a 1/7-scale commercial figure placed on a desk with a transparent base and packaging box.

  • Seedream4.0 sometimes requires multiple iterations to achieve an ideal result.
  • Nano Banana produces more natural results, though minor imperfections can still appear.

The fun of AI-generated imagery lies in experimentation—refining and iterating until you achieve the desired outcome.

High-Resolution Photo Restoration

I restored black-and-white photos of 1990s Hollywood stars—Brenda Fricker, Juliette Lewis, Nicole Kidman, and Demi Moore—and colorized them:

  • Seedream4.0: Repairs scratches, tears, and fading, with color correction and contrast adjustments.
  • Nano Banana: Preserves the original style with minimal rendering, respecting the source image.

Merchandise & IP Design

Using personal pet photos, I created six different IP concepts (e.g., playing guitar, wearing a bow tie, holding a magic wand). One image was chosen as the core for a full merchandise line: tote bags, mugs, phone cases, pillows, and keychains. The designs are clean, cute, and color-coordinated.

Both models produced distinct styles, allowing flexibility in selecting the preferred direction for further production.

Hairstyle Variations

I tested five different hairstyles: French chin-length bob, loose waves with highlights, sleek high ponytail, asymmetrical pixie cut, and Korean air bangs with shoulder-length hair.

  • Both Seedream4.0 and Nano Banana handled these changes well, though minor differences appeared in facial consistency and arm positioning. Overall, both models executed the instructions accurately.

Multi-Image Compositing

Combining multiple characters while maintaining consistency in clothing and appearance allows the creation of new poses and scenarios.

  • Nano Banana produced more natural compositions, though some positioning details were slightly off.
  • Seedream4.0’s style was more varied, with occasional stiffness in the poses.

Conclusion

The true value of AI-generated imagery lies in iterative experimentation. There is no “best” tool—only the model that fits your needs.

Textideo enables seamless switching between top-tier models, including:

You can adjust models according to your needs for optimal results. The platform also supports batch image generation, producing posters, memes, and video assets in a single click, significantly boosting productivity.

Ultimately, the essence of creation is discovering the perfect result through each experiment.

I just opened my Fiverr gig for my Systeme io / ClickFunnels funnel service — I’m offering 50% off my first few clients to collect reviews. How to reach me +18582509952

Hi Duke, I assume you're a founder or closely assimilated with one. Can you share some stories of building the product itself, did you encounter any issues acquiring the APIs, how profitable is your business model, what strategies seem to be working the best etc.

I'm in a similar field and I could share some of my stories with building AI writing tools, maybe we can learn from each other :D

That's crazy, every other day, a new platform that integrates the latest model is created. Textideo looks great!

Excellent breakdown of the AI model comparison space! The multi-model approach is brilliant - reminds me of how we positioned our loyalty card app as a "universal wallet" rather than trying to compete with individual card programs.

From building an app to 55k+ downloads, here are some insights on your platform strategy:

The "Why Choose" Positioning is Gold:
Your title perfectly captures the frustration most creators face - tool fatigue from switching platforms. When we integrated multiple loyalty programs instead of forcing users to choose one, engagement increased 3x. The same psychology applies here.

    User Experience Insights:
The side-by-side canvas approach is smart UX. In our app, the biggest retention boost came when we made comparisons effortless ("which card gives better rewards for this purchase"). Your chat-left, canvas-right layout removes friction from the comparison process.

    Business Model Opportunity:
This platform positioning (aggregator vs individual tool) typically commands premium pricing because you're solving the "decision paralysis" problem. Consider offering "recommendation engines" - AI that suggests which model to use based on project type.

    Content Marketing Strategy:
These detailed comparison posts are fantastic for SEO and building authority. Each use case (e-commerce, figure modeling, photo restoration) targets different search intents. I'd suggest creating dedicated landing pages for each use case you've outlined.

    Feature Suggestion:
Consider adding "batch testing" - let users run the same prompt across all models simultaneously, then A/B test results with real audiences. This would be huge for agencies and content creators.

The creative experimentation angle resonates strongly - that's exactly how our most engaged users behaved with our app. They weren't just completing transactions; they were exploring possibilities.

Textideo solving the "which tool" problem rather than being another tool shows real strategic thinking. This aggregation approach often wins in fragmented AI markets.

Really cool breakdown — love how you’ve highlighted the strengths of both Nano Banana and Seedream4.0 without turning it into a “versus” battle. The ability to test them side by side in Textideo sounds like a huge time-saver, especially for creatives working at scale. I especially liked the e-commerce and merch use cases — super practical and relatable. Also, the detailed comparison on restoration and figure modeling was insightful. It’s clear that both models have their own flavor, and having them in one place just makes experimentation easier. Definitely checking out Textideo for my next design sprint!
