Napkin thought: Customer Interviewing as a Service

So I see a lot of conversations and requests about how to get customers to interview, how to do interviewing well, etc.

I'm a founder/product manager with a market research and quantitative social science background.

Services like usertesting/trymyui are ok, as long as you have expertise in customer interviewing and research.

While I believe that all founders should be engaged in customer interviewing, I don't think they should be conducting the interviews, at least not all the time.

Here's the service:

  • Kickoff: if you have a product, tell us about it. If you don't, just describe the opportunity/problem space you are interested in. We can engage on a zoom call to understand this better.
  • You tell us how often you want reporting (Biweekly, Monthly, Bimonthly)
  • You tell us if you have customers to interview (small increase in price if you don't)
  • We interview 10 customers per cycle.
  • You get a report of all the opportunities uncovered, ordered by rough assessment of impact. Each opportunity will include links to customer videos on the topic.

Extremely back of the envelope pricing puts us at $1800 USD per reporting cycle. $2000 USD if we need to find customers to interview.

Thoughts? Feelings?
