Hi guys, I think this is kinda weird to ask about in this community, but I've been working on something for the past couple months. I wanted to launch on product hunt at some point, but it turns out that someone had launched on product hunt something pretty much identical but not exactly the same to my product a week before I finished my project.
If I wanted a chance to launch my product on product hunt, does anyone know the stigma revolving around launching similar products, and the reception it they usually get if they're a "second" mover or so to speak?
I see similar products all the time on ProductHunt. Try typing "social media scheduler" into Product Hunt search bar to see what I mean. Tens of psimilar products.
If their submission has gotten popular, maybe wait a week or two before launching there. Also explore other acquisition channels (see the link in my profile bio).
If someone launched their product and got some success, this should be an encouragement that there's a potential market for it. See the people who commented, maybe contact them and ask them for feedback of your product. You have a lot more to work with now that you're not the first.
