It is not your customers’ job to remember you. It is your obligation and responsibility to make sure they don’t have the chance to forget you.—Patricia Fripp

Email marketing is gold mine for ecommerce and all businesses in general. Asking a web visitor for credit card info, is a lot to ask but an email is good as making them your friend. You know what they say. People buy from people they know and trust.

If you have been in the game for a while you know, it takes 3-7 times to get contact to a potential client for them to buy from you.

Having a big email list also doesn't mean 'more money'. You will still need to use psychology to entice your prospect.

I completely agree with your opinion. I would like to add that it's always better to have the user go in to your site in order to try and maximize the sale. As much as we wish a user will read our email and straight up purchase, we need to remember that in most cases the user will go on the site, check the products and then maybe if had a good experience will finish the marketing funnel.

In addition to the time and money invested in marketing emails I would try to also focus on personalized experience for the user. Once already got in your store, make sure it will see the products that are most likely increase the call to action on your site and will help the user convert. Twik is just one tool that help you do that, and you don't have to do it yourself, as it's completely automatic and doesn't require time or effort.

Combination of both high quality marketing emails and a great personalized user experience will help you increase your sales and revenue.
