But why? I'm genuinely curious as to why you think this is needed. You think I want to create an account for a 3rd party service to find books to buy on Amazon?
#1: It doesn't work. I typed in "The Happiness Advantage" and the first book it suggests is "Little Women" with a 57.26 similarity score.
#2: Even if it did work, it's pointless. I can open up The Happiness Advantage on Amazon and it gives me a list of similar books in "You might also like" without requiring logging into your site or using your AFFILIATE LINK.
If it was still 1999, this would be pretty cool.

My hobby is to complete 'N books before I die', finding next read is very nuanced
#0: Traditional book recommendation is based on keywords i.e you will get suggestion like book from same category or book from same author . What I am trying here is suggesting books based on similarity of underlying theme with a book you loved reading + quantifying the similarity.
#1: In my next iteration I would give an explanation for the score and have a bigger pool of suggested books (more similarity score from my model), but for the example you tried - While The Happiness Advantage is self-help and the other is classic literature, they both convey the idea that a positive mindset, strong relationships, and perseverance lead to a fulfilling life.
#2: Book suggestion is a big area this one online reddit community has 3.1 million members and is in 1% - r/suggestmeabook,
Hey. Checked it out and liked how direct the UI is. I had no trouble trying it out with a couple of book titles. The recommended book results seemed limited though. Curious, how are you getting the candidates for books to be recommended? What are you using to make the comparisons?

Since I am at an early stage, seed data is built by getting best books of all time - I just took different lists like BBC -The Big Read List , The Guardian -The 100 greatest novels of all time etc.
For comparison I have build a model by training it on a test set, there is scope of enhancing the training set + fine tuning it better.
