Need feedback on whether I'm crazy for loving b2c vs b2b

I actually just learned the difference between them a couple years back. lol.

In my current role, I'm mainly focused on b2c partnerships, and I love it. However, most of my colleagues seem to love b2b (bigger sales, more money, etc.). Am I being crazy, naive, or just being true to who I am?

More importantly: What do you prefer? Have you transitioned mindsets?

Know this is a very random question but just been on my mind.

    I see so many people hating B2C (SaaS). Even if you read IndieHackers interviews from B2C founders, around 50% of them say that they regret going through the B2C route.

    I think it's important to define what B2C is, though. A lot of people say B2C is selling to programmers, freelancers etc. It's not quite true, though. Angular on Rails founder (he has an interview here on IH) has a nice quote about this:

    I later read that "businesses buy on value and consumers buy on price." I believe that's true. Angular on Rails actually sells to individuals as opposed to businesses, but the customers buy for business reasons. They're making an investment in themselves so they can earn more money later. You can compare this to something like Spotify, which is just a luxury. That's why my video package costs $99, and Spotify only costs $10/mo.

    B2C doesn't seem to work when the (C)ustomer is someone who's not connected to clients/companies in any way (like parents, see Baby Growth Chart Interview, where the founder said):

    Finally, about this whole B2C thing. The consumers… I'm sure you've heard it before. It's really difficult to convert consumers into paid customers. I've tried various price points from $4.99 all way down to $0.99, but there wasn't much of a difference.

    Finally, I have some a few words of warning for anyone who plans to make iOS apps. This is a much harder B2C market than B2B, especially for indie hackers. For one, you can't target your application to a particular audience. Also, most people won't pay for apps in advance like it was 2-3 years ago. Only a specific group of applications will be promoted on the main page, and search in the App Store doesn't work well. Communication with customers is hard, as you can't just reply to the app's comments. And even if you want to only patch a small thing, you always have to wait in a queue for review.

    Most folks love b2c, but it is "high risk".

    Lots of b2b lovers started building a b2c and failed.

    With b2b you can easily cold call and email folks and get decent revenue from it (that's the belief)
