Need feedback to validate app idea.
How many of you keep looking for their wallets when doing an online purchase?
Do you think an app might be helpful in storing your card information?
I'm looking for some validation for my idea, any feedback would be much appreciated.
But I will be reluctant to store my credit card. may be I am too paranoid but it will be hard to convince ppl like me. Although I agree that the problem is real
Agree with the comment here, I don't see how this is different from the auto complete feature offered by browsers.
I would be too skeptical of this to securely store my info even if it claims to be on the device.
Thanks for your feedback @VinayRajagopal. Just to get a better understanding, why would you prefer storing the card information on the browser?
One reason that I can think of is it's quick to fill in the information and you don't have to remember it.

First time entry of card details is a smoother experience on browser(when I pay on some website for the first time, the card details are saved) compared to this app( where I need to take out time to input these details). Would I do it when I download the app? Would I keep aside sometime later for doing it? As a customer, I am more likely to download and forget about it.
In the past, I had been part of a startup that was in similar space- an app to store all card details including loyalty cards and IDs. It just didn’t get the traction, thanks to the friction I summarised above.

Thanks for replying @mistletoe91 and @JonathanOron. I agree to the concerns you have raised and I too have the same fear of storing card details on browsers, apps, and websites.
The app would store the data on the device encrypted with a private key which only the user knows. This solution would not collect or store any data on the cloud to ensure privacy is not compromised.
There are quite a few ways I have thought of monetizing it but not yet finalized any.
Would love to hear any suggestions you have.

PS I agree with @mistletoe91, I switched from Dashlane back to Lastpass for that reason.
