Hey makers,
I'm currently into building Maker Needs which includes some helpful tools for all of us. I've recently built a pop-up tool in Maker Needs to announce a custom welcome message, coupon codes etc. for visitors coming from Product Hunt. I will add some more tools here in time.
I have six product ideas for Maker Needs for now. At the beginning, I will launch Maker Needs with three products. Also I'm thinking add some premium features to each products to customize the views. After launching Maker Needs, if it attracts attention I will add three more products.
I couldn't decide the pricing model for this project. I have some questions which are not clear in my mind about pricing plans.
1- Actually, I will already prepare these product for my projects so I may give them all free for get some audience. But there won't be any premium plan and revenue.
2- If I decide to provide Maker Needs with premium model, I'm not sure that I should sell as a subscription based-monthly plan or life time-one time plan. As I said I will launch 3 products more as a second version of Maker Needs after launching the first version. Things are getting crazy at this point.
3- I think it is better to offer for all three products than offering payment for each product. As an another option I can offer payment for each product.
4- In the other hand, I'm not clear about building premium features for each products for the first launch. What if it doesn't attract any attention? I might have developed premium features in vain. But I don't want to miss customers coming to see on launch too.
I'm confused a lot. I would happy to hear your thoughts!
Figure out what your audience pain point and ask the money for it. For example - as you have built the "Cookie Consent" form, are people also required to see the analytics of the form, are people also want the responsiveness of the dialog?
My simple idea- Free the basis version and ask money for the pain point.
or you can also move to the monthly subscription fees.
but the issue with pricing is- are people who want your product can pay or willing to pay?
Generally people hesitate to pay for this short of product as they are many free places you can get the code. Try to add value on top of this product and charge for it.
Just my opinion.
Thanks for your advices. I've decided to share it for free. If there is any demand, I can provide a premium version.
I would personally have premium features for each product. (One time purchase)
Like always the main free product should be okay, but the one everyone actually wants is paid. For example the modal, have a premium version of that one with the ability for the users to sign up for a newsletter?
Thanks for the comment. I'll keep your advices in my mind. I've decided to share it for free. If people love it, I will think it later again.
