Hello there,
I know this might look like a dirty hack but I think it's better to hear it from you - dear community :)
Anyway, I was thinking about building a service which would aggregate all actual customer comments in one place for real products which are placed within multiple retail platforms like Amazon, Ebay etc.
Would you benefit from such service or it's just another junk idea?
Anyhow, thanks for your time reading this.
Appreciate your feedback in advance.
I know there are companies that aggregate android app reviews but not sure if there are companies that do the same for product reviews at online retailers.
Extracting a good signal from reviews and comments is really hard so if you can add something that improves the ability to figure out what the underlying reasons are for the bad reviews and comments then you will have a viable business. Most places I suspect do this kind of analysis manually by hiring people or asking their support staff to do it.
It's good idea and can be very useful but add more to it, I don't think people is going to pay you just to read comments.
I agree that you need more functions in your service. You can add some information about products in all platforms, for example the number of views of product in all platforms in order to compare the profit (if you can get this information) or add an ability to reply on customer comments from your service (from one place).
Years ago I had a somewhat related idea that might be helpful for you. I called it social sales and it was essentially the ability to say "I just found a good deal on X product" and anyone following that product/bramd then gets notified of the deal. Next step is to allow following and recommendations (i.e. people who like X product or brand also like Y product or brand). If you can tie that into reviews (i.e. you bought and liked/reviewed X product so you may also like this product, and by the way it's on sale on ABC website).
My email is in my profile and I'm happy to share the functional spec I wrote when I was thinking of moving forward on Social Sales.
