I’d suggest a couple of small changes:

1. If you don’t need first name, don’t ask for it.
2. I’d make a change similar to the following:
   “Building a place for parents to find homeschooling resources they didn't know existed.”
   —>
   “A place for parents to find the best homeschooling resources”

Basically just make the content focus on the customers needs, not on the fact you’re building something - to them that’s just noise and it weakens the message.

I’d start with minimal changes like that but you could add more detail below the fold about how your offer addresses the pain points of home schooling. This would need to use relevant keywords and terminology that your customers understand well and would use when searching in google etc.
