Need some guidance to bootstrapping

For a bit of context, I created www.trendmate.xyz (the app is here www.app.trendmate.xyz) as a platform because my partner (an influencer) was experiencing a block and was finding it difficult to create ideas for content.

My eventual goal is to build it out into a more all-encompassing web application that lets people discover new niches, types of content, and ideas.

My current biggest challenge is this: I lose momentum very quickly as user acquisition feels like the biggest hurdle. I will make the application, make the website and SEO-optimise the website and then I'll just stop because I feel like I'm a wannabe!

I'm really just looking for some guidance

I wrote about content based Micro SaaS Ideas in my Micro SaaS Ideas Newsletter earlier.

While the outline of your idea is fine, more can be done here rather than just generating a few ideas and saving those. You can see to generate quick content automatically - May be generate content based on idea, create Google Slides using GPT and then create a video of the PPT with some voice over. All of this may not be possible but throwing more ideas on what add-ons can be done.

You can connect these influencers to a vetted network of people who can create the content for these influencers. This could actually generate you more revenue as a marketplace vendor if you can connect these influencers to actual people who can create the video in half-the-time. Another option would be to connect these influencers to sponsors and enable deals/payments between both parties. Note that marketplaces are tough and can take several months to get traction.

"I lose momentum very quickly as user acquisition feels like the biggest hurdle."

^^^^ this is a product/market fit problem. if you are struggling to acquire users you don't have product/market fit. product/market fit on the internet looks like 20+ signups a day easily. anything less than that isn't worth pursuing imo.

be ruthless about what you pursue, we don't have time for slog businesses, we want momentum. think big!

test out 3 ideas in parallel, run them for 3 days each, whichever gets you instant results (meaning signups), run with that. kill the others. use market research tools like trends.co and explodingideas.co honestly getting caught up on time wasting ideas is the biggest discouragement. if you build something that gets tons of easy users you will feel like a rockstar and you are a rockstar, don't settle for ideas that no-one is interested in.

you will know it when you have it. i've pursued over 30 internet ideas. 3 worked so far. some will say "shiny object syndrome", screw that. if you want hits you're not going to have a perfect batting average.

    Hey Rob,

There's a couple of things you're bringing up here.

    1. You feel like a wannabe. That's normal. It's called "imposter syndrome" and most people have it - especially those at a high level. Hell, I've been marketing, selling & creating for nearly 20 years and I still have my moments of feeling like an imposter. It comes with the territory and there's not really much you can do about it except ignore it and carry on.

    2. User acquisition is the biggest hurdle - absolutely. You've discovered that making something is pretty easy - virtually everyone can do this. Actually getting people to buy what you've made is a whole other story and is actually quite hard - especially if you use the traditional approach of selling your product to potential customers (why that's an issue and an alternative and far more approach is something I talk about in-depth on my website - www.thebluntmethod.com).

Long story short - the solution is to keep going. As long as you have a solution that has existing demand (aka you have competitors that are successfully getting paying customers) then you just need to work on the marketing aspect of things.

    Best

If this is an issue, you need to take the "quantity over quality" route of mass marketing

Be extremely active on twitter, product hunt, here, and reddit.

This was how we promoted Evoke and it has worked splendidly
