Need some honest feedback on this idea

Yeah, I have to be honest and say that the website looks shady as ****. Especially the "one programmer, no bs" part.

If I'll use a new social network, I expect some of my friends to already be present there and at least look like something established.

And the "one programmer" part... what is that supposed to mean? Make me feel good because there is only one person behind this project? Well, in general, when there is only one person behind a business, I look at it as very risky because it has one point of failure: that person. If that person wakes up in a morning and says "f*** it i'm gonna close the curtains on this" there is it.

And, if I am going to click that "pay 9$/year" thingy at least I want to know what I am buying. At least a list of features or screenshots (or mockups would do). And when I saw 9$/year I thought "well that's expensive", because I saw only that 9$. I think people are more accustomed to thinking about pricing as per month, it comes more natural in today's society because people usually report it to their monthly income and expenses first.

Lastly, my opinion is that nobody will use something paid if there are free alternatives. Even with the latest privacy scandal that involved Facebook, nobody gives a true crap about privacy. Or if they care, they are way too few to make a sustainable business with them as clients.

There is a huge problem with SN and that is people are not there. I mean I see my self "attached" to FB because of that, and even so I've began to only opening messenger.

The landing page looks somewhat doubtful, it doesn't tell me much about it.

There's one thing I've learned from my various projects: Design matters quite a lot. Design, to me, isn't just making things pretty, but trying your hardest to make them understandable, even the language you use, and making them feel somewhat "natural".

Quite frankly I don't think Social Networks is something that is to be taken lightly, it takes a huge amount of effort to make people want to even try it, people need to be there, something needs to be happening, and you must give the urge of "you want to be a part of this".

As far as being addicted to side projects, so am I, sometimes it bores me, and sometimes it fascinates me! I think it's great that you tackle new projects, learn as much from them as possible, and also if this might be the case: Learn more stuff surrounding it! :)

I'm comparing this more to https://mastodon.social/about than Facebook. Also, one programmer, not too sure about that marketing..
