[Need suggestions] Indie Hacking within an enterprise

Hey IH,

I work at a big bank under the Department of Innovation, Research, and Development focusing mainly on building software. I pitched about startup/indie mindset when approaching problems faced in the current process of the bank.

I am now given a chance to write my own JD, title, and responsibilities and I am totally overwhelmed. As my job, I want to do identify different problems in the organization, build solutions that would generate value, and jump on to other problems. This will be a mid-senior position.

Is there anyone who works around these lines and willing to share some insights, challenges, advice on how to go forward with it?

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity. Congrats!

Personally, I’d look into the reporting structure / oversight of your work. Chances are that some of the solutions you come up with will be controversial (otherwise the company would be doing them already, right?). What happens then? Do you get autonomy to burn a budget on something that might not work? Or that your boss thinks that won’t work?

That sounds amazing. People call this 'intrapreneurship' have you tried searching for inspiration on that?
