hey i am thinking of creating a wesbite/app where one can market ones products, companies and wesbites through videos. Something similar to TikTok yet different in that every video is based around buisnesses. What do you guys think?
It doesn't matter what we think. It matters what your target market thinks.
Who is your specific target audience?
Why would they post?
Why would people watch?
How would it make money?
The idea is that the specific target audience is anyone who wishes to sell or express their products. This application or website will serve in a way in which can change the idea of marketing. Instead of marketing through social media and cluttering other wesbites with links or advertisments, why cant we have one website or app just dedicated to short advertisments made by these companies and people. The way that this will generate money is by taking a fee per month from the company or personal to advertise on this app or website. There advertisements will soley be through a video platform. People who are interested in buying products would possibly prefer to watch a short video on one application or website then oppose to searching or reading or looking at pictures on various websites. The webiste or app would automatically link to the persons product allowing them to buy the product. Hope that answered :)
It sounds like a type of marketplace. If you target "everyone" then it will be very hard to provide value... On the supply side you might have a lot of offers on one type but on the demand side something different (e.g. Lots of people selling books and lots the buyers looking for gym equipment). You could end up getting quantity but not quality matches. Consider staring with a narrow audience (e.g. a marketplace for buying and selling used gym equipment)
I think the difficult part of this idea is finding an audience that wants to watch business ads that would actually benefit the businesses making the videos.
Would you go to a site to watch advertisements for random small businesses?
The videos would have to be narrowly targeted to a problem the consumer wants solved. This would also help with search rankings.
For example, video introductions of email marketing platforms. I think there is potential here, but you'll need to really niche down to get started.

Is this QVC meets TikTok? On the consumer side, I can't see who would download an app to watch ads of people's products. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you're saying.
