Need validation for photography niche
Hi everyone. I've got a good domain in the photography niche and was wanting to explore my options to grow a community and monetize it. I have multiple directions to explore, some of which include :
buy/sell marketplace (gear)
freelance marketplace (services)
Gear rental/hire services
Online portfolio
Kinda stuck at thinking of something different to bring to the table. My primary niche will cater to photographers but not sure how I can monetize the site.
As a former owner of a studio, I can offer a bit of help. Looking at your list of options, I'd suggest from the outset that you should narrow down your focus (haha see what I did there?). There are huge, established players in all of those items that are go-tos for the pros for many years.
Not to suggest you can't compete, but amongst professionals you cannot compete unless you grow very large. And amongst the amateur OMWC crowd (old man with camera), that space is very crowded.
If you were to specialize in a smaller niche, see what you can come up with that might have little or no competition.
