Need ya'll opinion on this site - We Work Remotely

So I was just going through this website: https://weworkremotely.com which is a website for remote jobs/freelance jobs. Upon landing on the main page the one thing you see is the fee of 299USD for a job posting. I am amazed and gobsmacked that there are companies that are willing to do that for a single job post. Obviously the price is jacked because this website promises access to a very refined and vast group of developer talent that maybe you wouldnt find anywhere.

So my question was - how can you create a community like this from the ground up similar to this one? What are the steps in your opinion?

Cheers.

    Good things take time.

It's something we all deep down know but don't always like because we want it here and now. I am pretty sure that they didn't started with a fee that high and probably started by investing a lot of money to bring both parties together in the first place.

A few years ago I also had a hard time understanding that companies are willing to pay that amount for a job post, but the real truth is that $299 is a pretty sweet deal compared to the time and risk it would cost doing it yourself.
