Hello there! :)
Planning to launch on the 3 of September.
I have read the entire literature regarding Product Hunt, "how to Launch successfully" blogs, and the failures of my colleague makers. Thinking it would ensure a better launch, or at least calm my nerves, but no.
This is the app (https://nailted.com/), the employee engagement software. The problem is that I feel it is not techy enough or B2C (which I see to be a pattern), would you guys have any feedback or tips?
How should I focus on the pre-launch? Maybe give it a "techy vibe" by launching it as Nailted for Slack?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Hey Miguel!
First, congrats on the launch - it's a huge milestone!
Just couple of days ago I came across a post on PH community about launching, and here's what I replied:
Given there's so much competition almost everywhere nowadays, I believe it's best to launch with an almost market ready solution (aka release version) that can be used by a huge audience.
MVP (for me at least) is something prior to this stage - it's best to launch on a small community (<1000 people).
Also, here's what Ashley Higgins (new PH CEO) was tweeting just last night:
"70% of products that hit #1 are posted before 12:30am PT on launch day. For ALL historical posts made after 4am PT, only 8% have hit #1."
"Tuesday through Thursday are the most popular days to launch on PH. That means more products launch and it takes more votes to hit #1.
Lesson: Consider launching Friday - Monday for better odds at hitting the top of the leaderboard and reaching more users. "
Hope it helps!
Hello Gleb!!
I really appreciate your help. We have already released the product, but just to know... what kind of smaller community do you refer to? Slack groups?
The date to launch is of great help, we had some doubts about when to do it, but I think we are going to go with Friday 3.
Thank you so much,
Miguel
Yes, slack groups, telegram chats and others are great to find first 1k users or so.
Just recently wrote about the learnings form our PH launch. Hope it helps: https://www.flowrite.com/blog/how-to-launch-on-product-hunt
Thanks I will check it out!
Hey Miguel,
I got #1 on product hunt for the week and #3 for the month. I made a video of my takeaways, tips and what worked for me. Maybe it could be helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ9_8ULwogY
Hello!! I just checked it. Congrats on the video and getting to that position in PH.
I just launched heycopy.io 2 days ago on Product Hunt and ended up in 7th place. Even though we were 7th, we got 150+ signups with around 900 page visits.
For us what was really important was launching just after midnight PT as well as having a wellknown hunter.
Furthermore, another thing that helped was that we got into the PH newsletter. So while we didn't win product of the day, I think we might have won the hearts of the PH social media team.
Also, an interesting resource and some statistics about PH launches: https://wiki.launchkitty.com/results
Hey Simon! Thanks for your help! I forgot to answer, but went on your PH page, and the resources. They really helped our Launch!

Thanks a lot again!! If you ever need anything please let me know!
Miguel - good luck with your upcoming launch! I'm happy to support on your launch day.
I also (nervously) just finished my first ever PH launch this week (Tuesday) and wrote a post last night about my own experience and some tips. Check it out & hope it helps!

Hey AJ!! Just Launched on PH, and I wanna say, your help was a key factor for this Launch. Thank you so much for your help!https://www.producthunt.com/posts/nailted-for-slack
Just upvoted! Good luck Miguel :)
Your website looks awesome! Is $4 a common price in your industry? I probably would double that if I were in your shoes, thb.
Hey Alberto! Thanks for your comment :) It is nice to know you find it cool. The prices are fair compared to the industry. But it gets even better... we have a free version, which also works pretty well.
Thanks again for your insights though :)
