I had a pretty dated personal website that got put on the backburner after getting employed full-time.
Now I'm determined to keep a log of all the personal projects I work on here. Something I've always found useful is that a blog post can be written after any technical "aha!" moments you have. Those "bang your head on a wall and stare at Stack Overflow all day" moments.
After building some of the backend for an IoT product I am working on, I thought a blog post would be in need. AWS is painfully difficult when you're first starting out and I couldn't find anything that easily fit my use-case.
If anyone is looking to launch a new blog, I'd highly recommend Ghost!

Congrats with the launch James! Looks good.
Just some points of feedback:
I see you don't have something to easily contact you (apart from your email in a code block), is this something you are planning on adding? If so, do you think Boei.help could be something for you? You can add it to Ghost with just one line
Dolphins always bring some flare :)
I will try to look around for some better code block styling, I think you're right. Also thank you for taking the time to read my post!
Is Boei a chat service of sorts? I may not be the right audience for that, for myself I'd prefer a contact block.
Haha cool they are sweet indeed!
No its more a floating button with all kinds of contact options. Basically bridging between the website and social chat like whatsapp or telegram. Also am working on a contact form within it. Have you clicked the demo in the right corner? Https://www.boei.help
Wow, I really like the demo! Is there a reason you went with the free version first? It reduced friction for me, but I'm like most other IH's when it comes to free things I'm sure.
I'll have to dig through your posts here. I would like to give it a try though
Do you mean that you are afraid i sell your data or something like that? If so I should probably add more info to the site about it.
I make Boei for fun. The free version will always be free. There will be a paid version with additional features in the future but I dont know yet how that one will look like. I see the free version a bit as a marketing tool. If someone sees it at your site they may ask you where it is from.
Yes that was my first thought but your website made that clear. I also tend to shy away from paid services (it's a bad habit I know). Others might disagree on that as I think there's a podcast about how selling to IH's is a good thing.
I think you have a great project! I'm going to sign up soon and give it a try!
I do the exact same thing. For some services I am happy to pay, but for a lot of them not. I cannot really get my finger on it haha.
Awesome!! Let me know how it goes and if you need help or have feedback :)
Less than 5 minutes!!! From signing up with my email to putting it on my site.
That's incredible. Thank you.
Yay! Awesome :)
One quick note is the Demo > Getting Started is giving me a 404 :(
Good catch! Thanks for letting me know. I have recently introduced url-encoding and was a little too strict on it. Should be fixed now :)
(may need to refresh cache)
PS. You get a 404 when you are already logged in. Which does normally not happen because that link is for new signups ;)
I moved over to Ghost recently too. 😍
Ghost is great!
