Hey Indie Hackers community,
I hope you're all doing amazing in your journey of building your IH businesses! 🚀 I've been thinking about a feature that could add a new layer of inspiration and recognition to our already thriving community.
We all know that the path of an indie hacker is full of ups and downs, wins and lessons learned. And along the way, we've found incredible value in sharing our experiences, insights, and ideas on this platform. But what if we could take this engagement to the next level?
Introducing Leaderboards: Celebrating the Best in Our Community
Imagine a dynamic leaderboard that not only recognizes the top Indie Hackers of all time but also showcases those who are making waves in recent weeks, months, and years. This would not only provide well-deserved recognition for the hard work and dedication of our fellow hackers but also serve as a roadmap for those seeking inspiration.
Why Leaderboards Make Sense
🌟 Highlighting Achievement: The top indie hackers of all time could act as beacons of inspiration, offering a glimpse into what's possible with determination and creativity.
🚀 Encouraging Engagement: Knowing that your contributions could propel you onto the leaderboard could drive more meaningful interactions, discussions, and knowledge sharing.
🔍 Easier Discovery: For newcomers and those seeking fresh ideas, these leaderboards would serve as a curated list of individuals worth following closely.
Imagine the Impact.
Just picture it: as a newbie to the indie hacking scene, you'd have a starting point to find those who've truly made a mark. You could tap into their insights, learn from their successes (and failures), and build connections that accelerate your own journey.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this concept. Would you find value in leaderboards that highlight the top Indie Hackers both historically and in the recent past? Do you think this could further enrich our sense of community and provide valuable inspiration for all the newcomers eager to make their mark? Let's discuss in the comments below!
Remember, we're all on this journey together, and every idea has the potential to reshape our community for the better. Keep hacking, keep sharing, and keep inspiring!
Best,
Rafał
@channingallen @csallen What do you thing about the concept? 🤔
I've thought about doing some sort of leaderboards for a long time. I will eventually.
The main challenge is deciding what criteria to use for leaderboard rankings. Leaderboards aren't very fun if they don't change every few months, or every few years at most.
Do it as you often recommend in the podcast: release 1 version, get feedback and change if you needed :)
Jokes aside, I agree that this leaderboards should change every now and then. I think that change every month will be great because everybody know that they can participate and have chance to be recognized if the provide great value to the community. You can add maybe some kind of badge "IH of the month" which will be assigned to the user profile - that would be cool feature.
Thank you for creating a good platform like this, i which to provide more meaningful content
