New features to help on board new users VS Refining existing features to improve experience for existing users. How should we prioritize?

We recently launched
Scribbl.co
and are looking for advice on how to prioritize.
Broadly you should focus on retention first assuming some users can get past onboarding and see value. If customers don't stay with you it doesn't matter how slick onboarding is.
I just wrote a post about this today:
https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-we-prioritize-features-at-our-early-stage-company-c89bbc8f16
We start with a goal. Our current goal is retention. So we focus on building features from current customers that align with our vision.
When you pick a goal it becomes a lot easier to say no to things that don't align with that... or explicitly change your goal :)
I love that goal. Simple and to the point. Thanks for your response.
👍🏼 At the early stage it helps to keep it simple :)
