New indiehacker, got my first paid users this weekend for an Alpha MVP! Can you please give me some landing page and messaging feedback?
I am a regular visitor to IH, though I mostly lurk and listen to the amazing podcasts. Being a former data scientist (at Google) and investor, I've been working on new ways to automatically detect good investing opportunities in the crypto market. It all started with a Python script I wrote for my own trading! I found it really helpful to cut down the noise so I decided to convert it to a web app (also build in Python!)
I recently posted about my new venture on Reddit and around 500 visitors, got around 20+ newsletter signups and 5 paid users. I am not sure if this is great validation, but it was better than zero.

Visually, it seems chaotic. It makes me feel like I'm visiting a spam popup ad page. Different fonts and sizes across image texts/paragraphs/etc. I'd recommend sticking to maybe 3 font sizes and 2 fonts max that are consistent across all tags. e.g. all headers and sub headers are one font and 2 sizes, paragraphs are the other font and remaining size.
Choose a color scheme with maybe 3 colors max and try your best to stick to that. https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/ this is what I usually use to help me decide on what colors to use.
The page seems way too wordy. I've had clients that give me a lot of content for their landing pages and I always tend to recommend keeping it as simple as possible. It should keep the user interested while getting the point across. Landing pages are to just give the visitor an idea and then if they're still interested they'll continue reading elsewhere. Especially since a lot of your images contain text.
e.g. "Instead of looking at individual charts for hours, automatically surface consistent trends." could be changed to just "Automatically surface consistent trends."
Get better quality icons. the emoticons/icons seem like you mixed and matched from different sets and kind of look cheap. Pay a few dollars and use 1 set from a designer or distributor.
Try to keep the buttons font text/sizes/colors relatively the same. The toolkit section buttons are great (minus the pastel like colors matched with the bold solid colors) but then the email sign up button has such small text it seems like it doesn't belong on the page.

Tough advice to hear but I agree with all this. Your points about color are especially important, I think the white background makes it look very plain / cheap. I also think the OP should add margins to the left and right side rather than having text stretch across the whole screen.
I love your feedback - this is exactly what I was looking for. I am planning to hire a LP designer to work with me. Being from an engineering background and a voracious reader, I love text (even more than visuals).
But that's a stumbling block for me as you can see :)

There's a lot of text and I get drowned in it. Some of your text have small fonts while others have larger fonts. It's all over the place.
I'm looking at your website through a mobile phone and I have to squint to see some of the text so maybe make it easier for the eyes.
Your landing page should be minimalistic and straight to the point.

Just scrolling through your landing page I can't see any CTA (except the newsletter which is also not very prominent).
Your landing page should be optimized for one action and one action only.
Decide what you want to optimize for (e.g. newsletter signups or paid customer signups) and optimize it in regards to that. Make it as easy as possible for people to do certain action.
Also your site is very chaotic. A lot of images, emojis and colors which make it hard for the eyes to focus on anything, which goes back to the previous advice.

Great advice - I have received this feedback about the CTA before. Many folks visiting the site are bouncing off without even trying the main product. I'll be hard at work to fix this asap and also reduce the circus of elements as you describe so well. !
This is legitimately gonna be a nitpick, but the first thing I notice on the page is the frowny emoji. Either remove the Emojis, or change the frowny to a 🤔
