New MVP feedback

I have been dabbling with a Wishlist website https://wardaring.com that allows users to save items to their page - discoverable by friends, family, colleagues etc. so you never give or receive a bad gift again!

I'm struggling to validate the idea and am not sure where to go next so I'm hoping for any feedback (good or bad)!

    Nice site. Good idea. Only reason I wouldn't use it is because not enough people use it. Plus the pain of the thing I want not being on the site

    Good idea! Basically, you are asking your known ones to send you gifts you want :) Do you think that it will kill the surprise part of the "gift"? Also, I did not get the relation of name "wardaring" with wishlist based site.

    Here are my recommendations:

    • Add Google & Facebook API to sign up users. I cannot remember the last time a filled in a registration form. I always used a sign-up API. I think it would be useful to have a Pinterest sign up API (if there is one). It's more likely for users to sign up.
    • This is more suited to a web browser extension and mobile apps.
    • You need to mention what is your website. Looking at the website with no information doesn't tell me anything. Perhaps write some information on what it is. It reminds me of Pinterest without a register landing page.
    • Have you tried advertising it to your target audience? It looks and sounds like your niche is women fashion. So go to that niche and ask them.
    • Make a basic favicon image. Looking at the tab puts me off.

    Have you got any sign-ups?

    I like the concept, BUT:

    1. Is your site actually building the wishlist directly from the product offers on your site? Or can you add products from other sites as well?

    2. Are YOU setting the prices for the products? Dropshipping/FBA/something else?

    3. I would seriously consider maybe approaching this more like a Chrome extension/app/whatever that’s called (sorry, VERY lacking in technical knowledge.)
      You might be able to incorporate Antiontae’s idea of pulling from other site’s like that maybe?

    That’s just my take. I can see this being a pretty successful endeavor, however you choose to monetize it.

      1. My idea was to build the Wishlist from other sites, where users can add their own items from any site using the Bookmarklet tool (similar to how this works with Pinterest's tool)
      2. The prices are set from the website they originate on however users can add their own price when they add the item
      3. You can drag the bookmarklet tool to your favorites bar to easily add items from any website but perhaps I need to figure out a better way to communicate this, thanks for the tip!

      Out of curiosity what would I have to do on the website to entice you to sign up?

        My thinking would be to make it simpler for the user. To me, a bookmarklet is confusing, in fact I don’t even know what that means.

        My vision of your completed and live MVP:
        Remember how when you installed a game from a random website and it embedded all kinds of unnecessary apps and search bars to your browser? I feel it should be an opt-in version of that, where the user can drag the product link and drop it in the “add to my wishlist” bar, seamlessly adding it to their list and (maybe) notifying her social media accounts for friends and family to see. (I don’t know if that’s still a “thing,” haven’t used Facebook and the like in quite a while.) I’m sure it would be easy enough to make an Android and iOS app to make the wishlist add as simple as a long press on the URL, too.

        Without that “social” aspect, you might have trouble gaining traction. In my imaginary version of your product, it grows organically by just a few users adding products to their wishlist and broadcasting that action, enticing their networks of people to join and make wishlists of their own.

        Edit to say: After I decided to research about this bookmarklet tool, yes - that’s exactly what I was talking about. And yes, you’re right - you should make it much more apparent up front that the tool exists, and personally I would showcase that to emphasize the simplicity of using your wishlist.

There is a page on the website that allows you to drag the bookmarklet to your bookmark bar and then easily add products from any other site: https://wardaring.com/itm-settings/ is that what you're referring to? If yes I obviously haven't done a good job of making this clear on the website!

    Hello Me again!! I think it would be cool if I could like to products on other sites. So If I wanted shoes from nike and a watch from apple or amazon, I could like to those items.
