I'm considering taking a build in public approach to the Gas Cents app--a simple gas log app that lets you enter data with your camera and helps you identify practical ways to save cash (using data!)
As I'm getting started, do you recommend that I use my existing personal social media accounts--some of which are loosely linked to past projects/businesses--or setup new accounts for the fledgling brand?
Thanks in advance
Keep your existing ones!
You can use your own personal social media accounts to start with a greater audience.
Besides that, using a specific account for your new business can give you the best brand awareness possible, and still use your existing account to promote the new one.
Thank you!
Which social media site are you using?
A few months ago, when Musk was limiting how many tweets users could see, he had three tier of users. Verified, Unverified, New Unverified. New unverified users could see fewer tweets than unverified.
I am guessing they limit new users in other areas too. So, you might find it harder to build an audience with a new account.
That's a great insight. I haven't been on Twitter much lately so missed the specifics of that change
I'm tentatively planning to use Twitter and Reddit (assuming I can find a way to get to the target user), as well as to post about building here
making new Gas Cents accounts can help your app's brand develop a devoted fan base. When choosing your choice, take into account your objectives for brand identification and audience engagement. I wish you luck in Gas Cents!
Thanks!
i would advise having a separate account for the brand AND sharing that account's post or writing about it from your existing accounts. plus consider if you create a new brand then you can create a new account for it too, cause i guess you wouldn't want to have all your brands content posted only on your existing accounts.
Good thoughts, thanks!
