New Product Alert! - 250 recently funded startup leads in your inbox every monday 🤑

Hey fellow IHers!

Just thought I'd drop a note about a new product we're soft launching exclusively to IHers. It's called https://funded.to.

The first 25 people that sign up get 50% off the first month with discount code INDIEHACK. Here's the special link

https://checkout.funded.to/products/funded-monthly?promo=INDIEHACK

What you get:

  • A list of 250 recently funded startups in your inbox every Monday.
  • That's 1,000 leads a month.
  • All U.S. based startups that just raised a pre-seed, seed, Series A, B or C.
  • Company Linkedin, Founder Linkedin, Founder Email (validated!)

Why we built it:

Hunting for leads sucks. We'll source 250 leads of US based, recently funded startups and drop them in your inbox every Monday. Every data point, including the email address is manually confirmed and validated.

You might recall my post recently on Cold Email Studio. We realized many of our customers ask for the same list over and over, so we built a service to make lead hunting for startup founders cheaper and faster.

The awesome (people based) back end we built out for Cold Email Studio will be doing all the lead hunting and they're excellent at it. We've generated a ton of LTV for our current customers and know running thoughtful Linkedin and email campaigns off these lists really works.

fantastic Andrew, thanks for confirming 1,000 unique companies a month. I too am keen on early-stage (pre-seed, seed and some series a).

I have now bought it (using email [email protected]) and am really excited to see the list. I'll send email as I have a few questions, but great job with this product!

    1. 1

Just saw that, thanks so much Steve! I'll respond to your email shortly.

  2. 2

There is a discrepency in your communication. In the headline i see 99$ for 250 leads a month then i see in pricing section 149$ for 250 leads.

Also, there is no option to add discount code.

Let me buy this for 50$ and i will be your first customer :)

P.S. hopefully 250 leads mean, 250 different companies as i saw in your google sheet document different contacts from same company.

    Thanks for the answer back!

P.P.S. I would use this for designwiz.co we mainly work with saas companies or startups, so this should be ideal fit.

    1. 1

Also https://www.designwiz.co/ looks awesome. I just came across a similar agency selling for ~$2M on micro acquire. They were doing about $500k (USD) a year, I think you've got a lot of room to grow!

    2. 1

If you sign up, we'll do 250 unique companies for you.

Though I do find it's sometimes helpful to CC multiple founders on the same email list. Have had success with that.

      1. 1

looks great! I will also buy now if it is 250 unique companies per week...?

        1. 1

We can make it 250 unique companies a week (1,000 unique companies a month)!

          Here's the discounted link :) https://checkout.funded.to/products/funded-monthly?promo=INDIEHACK

    3. 1

Dang, You must have caught it right as I changed the pricing! I just changed it to only $99 a month.

So with your INDIEHACK discount code it will only be $50 for the first month :).

      1. 1

Hehe no worries, i know how these things can be thats why i pointed it out to you. Ok, i will go ahead and buy it :)

Also, did i notice correctly you also run a cold email agency. I think we should talk :) Cause i would probably need something like this.

Thank you for the compliments but i know realistically i am not there yet. I think you might be talking about designjoy from Brett who is also an abid indiehacker.

Btw, where do i apply the discount code?

        1. 1

I'm new to using convert kit. Here's your special link!

And yeah sure, happy to chat about cold email, feel free to book a time whenever works for you at https://www.coldemail.studio/. There's a link to my calendly in there.

          1. 1

I am building a tool you might find interesting - murlist.com. A platform to send automated video cold emails at scale. What do you think?

          2. 1

            DONE! and will do :)

  3. 2

Thanks Andrew. Why is this different/better from Crunchbase?

    1. 1

It's a ready to use prospecting list with accurate linkedin URLS and email addresses of the founders of the companies.

You could literally download the list -> put it in lemlist or mixmax -> and easily have a steady outbound email campaign quickly.

Maybe the price is too high?

      1. 2

Hey @jrbayguade and @andrewpierno, i have bought the list and look forward to the first one. But i have always been curious about Crunchbase, please tell me what the deal is with buying their data - is it expensive? And useful?

        1. 1
          • CrunchBase costs $29
          • it has a free tier that generates confidence in the value of the platform
-it’s not just about funded companies; it’s a vast database
          • lots of filters by industry, headcount, and more
          • allows creating alerts every time a new company is added or when one gets funded

If this new tool has at least this, then it's interesting. What info are you getting? Can you filter what you want to get?

          1. 1

ok I see. but sounds like Andrew's list is much more complete in terms of contact details.

            1. 1

As long as it's relevant to your business

      2. 1

Oh, that’s much better than Crunchbase, yeah. I have never obtained a customer from recently funded companies, but I understand it makes sense to target them.
Not sure about pricing; I pay x2 for Ahrefs.

Maybe some free trial would be a lower entry barrier?

  4. 1

This sounds like a good concept. But concerned about the fact many people with similar services will e getting the same lead list. Anyway, I will tryout for a month.

    1. 2

Awesome! Yes, I may just cap it at maybe 20 people or so. Over time we'll have a database of thousands so there will be less overlap!

Here's the discounted signup link in case you missed it!

      https://checkout.funded.to/products/funded-monthly?promo=INDIEHACK

  5. 1

how would you say the 250 generally split between pre-seed, seed, Series A, B or C?

    1. 1

Honestly, this will be whatever early customers prefer. I'd personally prefer more pre-seed, seed, Series A.

      What would be your preference?

  6. 1

I love that you have a whet thy appetite. I will be using it until we can afford the cost. Just curious, will all the subscribers receive same list each week?

    1. 1

Yes they will. I've been thinking about only limiting it to 10 or 20 people to make sure the leads are fresh for everyone.

  7. 1

Interesting work. Keen to what makes it better than Crunchbase, Strictly VC, Work-bench, and Terms Sheet by Fortune?

    1. 2

It's a ready to use prospecting list with accurate linkedin URLS and email addresses of the founders of the companies.

You could literally download the list -> put it in lemlist or mixmax -> and easily have a steady outbound email campaign quickly.

    2. 1

Does Strictly VC send lead list? I haven't seen that as I follow them for some times now.

      1. 2

Looks like Strictly VC is more about news than it is about receiving a prospecting list.

        1. 2

Yes, and even if one is to use the newsletter they send, it will still require a huge amount of work and not scalable. At least, when compared against 250 clean leads every week.

            1. 1

Hey Andrew, the link looks dead now?
