New Project Released - Test Track

Hey IH,

Over the weekend I released a new project I've been working on called Test Track (https://test-track.io).

For my own projects, and at work, and customers from work have all done test planning and tracking via an excel spreadsheet.

I hate spreadsheets at the best of times, but test tracking and planning in a spreadsheet can easily get messy and cumbersome.

Some tests require detailed descriptions of what to do and what to check, and you end up with a massive block of text in a spreadsheet easily looking a mess and hard to read.

If a test fails, you want to ensure that the development team can quickly identify how to replicate the fault so they can fix it quickly, maybe even with screenshots, however this is next to impossible to do in a spreadsheet (at least neatly) and again you could end up with a mass of text which is hard to read and manage.

Plus, it can end up getting into a mess if multiple people are working on a spreadsheet at the same time, or it has to get emailed back and fourth between different groups.

You might also have the hassle when a test plan needs to be re-run, you need to copy the last file, then delete everything that inputted from the test run through and start again.

This is where Test Track comes in. You can create a project and then create multiple test plans, e.g. you could have a test plan for frontend, one for backend etc.

Test plans have each test step as a summary, but you can provide detailed instructions with formatted text and images using markdown.

Once the test plan is created, you can then trigger a test run through and you get a clean plan to run through where you can easily set the status of each step and again, if a test fails, provide detailed and formatted text and images using markdown so the developers have all the information they need.

When developers have resolved the issue, they can mark it for retest so the testing team can re-test and confirm that it is working as expected.

There are plans to suite everyones needs including a free forever plan to get you started.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. If you want a paid plan, I'm offering the first 20 people from IH to drop me an email or DM (links in my profile) I'll send you a discount/coupon code for 50% off for 3 months you can use when registering, just mention this post in your message :).
