@jesterhoax I heard good things about WebFlow. They have a lot of ready-made themes that you can easily customize and launch. It's suitable for an MVP, while you still don't know for shure what you want with your website.

If you are more into self-coded stuff and love Next.js, Gatsby.js, Nuxt, or Svelte, picking a simple Headless CMS might be a way to go for you. In that case, I can help you with BCMS;

Are you a developer? You might want to try static site generators (Jekyll/Hugo) and host them for free on Netlify/Cloudflare.

Do you prefer no-code? Try using Webflow/Versoly/Bubble if you want to get more interactivity.

Depends if it's app then most are building from scratch with something like React and a nodejs backend.

You're correct that squarespace is more of an ecommerce type thing.

I switched from Wordpress to Webflow and never looked back.

Webflow is leagues better for customization and design, and allows for customization in terms of setting up their CMS along with creating other database objects (I use it for creating a series landing pages at scale).

I find that Webflow is also much faster out of the box, so it's much less to manage than Wordpress which needed plugins and whatnot.

Webflow is a good blend of solid fundamentals with manageable UX. I've been using the CMS and shocked how fast things come together after years of Wordpress, fully custom, etc.

bubble.io has been popping up on my no-code radar lately (pun intended).
