New, Simplified Pricing on Gumroad: Pay Less as You Earn More

I can't blame someone for chasing a bag, but you just tripled your cost for close to 90% of your customers.
Why put up such a barrier for new creators?
Also, could you cite your source around the 90%? I worry it's misinformation.
The old plan was 8.5% + 30¢ or $10/mo + 3.5% + 30¢. Obviously the latter has a huge barrier for new creators: $10 when you've made $0.
Now, it's 9% + 30¢ and drops to 7% + 30¢ after $1,000. I think the new plan is much better to grok for new creators–no premium fee to consider, and a much cleaner fee structure generally.
What am I missing?
Sure, I'm probably lacking info on my end. So please clarify. For context, below is my understanding.
So my understanding according to the "Last Year in the Creator Economy", its states that there are a total of 76,493 customer earning on Gumroad. 66,508 make under $1,000. That means that roughly 86% of your customers are paying more and don't even have an option to pay monthly for less percentage taken out.
I understand it's great for those making $$$. However, for 86% of your customers are now paying more than before.
