New startup challenge: Building an MVP and finding first users in 24h within 30 days

Hi,

I am Josef and after writing a book for over 3 years I realized I have to ship faster.

I came up with my own startup challenge:

Building an MVP and finding first users in 24h within 30 days.

Rules:

  • 24h total
  • 30 days time window
  • Get 10 users

My reasoning for this kind of challenge is this:

  • 24 hours keep you laser focused and on track of what's important
  • 30 days lets your brain work in the background and marketing to materialize
  • Do more than just building an MVP
  • Almost anyone can join since you need 1h a day but can also skip a day

I am now 15h in for the first project. I have a basic MVP running and started to work on my marketing part.

If you are curious, you can follow my Twitter thread as I build my first project in public.

I was also thinking that if I can find 10 people to try it, this should be extended by another 24h to find first paying customer.

So what do you think? Will you join my challenge?

This is a great idea. Thanks for the example. I am trying to promote a challenge myself related to promotion and content creation. I guess a lot of people are enjoying the holiday, or are out drinking or something. lol. I have only had one response as well.

I will keep an eye on your challenge. I have 3 sites under my care right now, and although, i want to try to get ChatGPT to build a Saas for me, I am staying disciplined and focusing on content right now for my sites.

Staying the course is really what differentiates in the long run :)

Hi David, thanks for the comment. I too have lots of ideas but I have to be very diligent with my time, so right now I want to finish my challenge and then finish up my SaaS template. Letting ChatGPT code your SaaS could be really interesting I wonder how would that turned up.

Hey Josef, your startup challenge is a fantastic idea! It truly pushes you to focus on the essentials and helps you learn through rapid iterations. I love the concept of building an MVP and finding users within 24 hours - it's a great way to test ideas and gather valuable feedback.

You're definitely on the right track with extending the challenge to find a paying customer. It shows that people find value in your product and are willing to invest in it.

Keep up the great work, and I'm excited to follow your progress on Twitter!
