NEW STARTUP, RECEIVING HEAVY TRAFFIC!!

A company which we started is receiving a heck of a lot of traffic and orders and we need to scale...

Hey man, well done - some businesses go their entire lifetime struggling to get traffic. Let alone orders!

It's hard to answer without a bit more specificity, so I'll guess.

    • Too many orders and struggling to fulfil? There are solutions that help with this - a brief discussion of some the ways to do this here

    • Customer service becoming tricky and frustrating? Outsource via Zendesk (heaps of others too)

    • So many orders that you're stressed and have no idea how to meet demand? Consider shutting down the ability to order and directing new enquiries to a waiting list. An explainer around being small, unprecedented demand, want to guarantee the best customer experience etc. can go a long way in the long run to contributing to your survival.

    Have fun :)

Congrats! How did you achieve that? What techniques are you using? 😱 Do you have a link to the startup site?

I'm not sure if you're serious with this post, but this website looks far from complete.

what would you suggest to change, because we made that website in a few days

          1. 2

The website doesn't respect basic formatting rules, like margins (spacing between objects and the page). Take a look at https://www.ubereats.com/. Also, each page looks like it's been made by hand since each page looks different (which also sounds like back-breaking work). Modern frameworks use just a few pages which information is dynamically loaded into from a database, so the pages look very consistent. And you can use a UI library like Fomantic (https://fomantic-ui.com/elements/button.html) for your HTML elements.

Also, I find it hard to believe the website is getting any orders since the 'Call to Order' button doesn't work on any page, and I wouldn't trust my credit card info with the one page you can order from.

I can tell this is your first website. You should look into WordPress so you can easily set up a nearly complete website in about a day before going the custom route. For a custom site, you should first pick up a javascript framework (like React or Angular), then a database technology to store info (like AWS or Firestore).

Yeah, not as much as you would think. In the past 4 days he received 300 page views according to his post. Then again, for a new website that's pretty good but I wouldn't say it's "blowing up" 😕

At least in the 1000s would be considered "heavy"

      Nope.

Needing to scale with 300 visits? Did they host it on a mobile phone?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Well we'll hopefully be there soon, that's all I can say
