New to Indie Hackers. Any tips?

Hi everyone! I am new to IH, any tips to get started? What do you usually use IH for? What do you like the most about this platform?

    Some tips:
Spend time reading comments. Often the true tips are hidden in there, and not in the actual post.

Posts that provide context do better than super short, single-question-only posts.

And don't forget that there is an insanely wide range of people on IH, from teenagers, students, first-time founders to seasoned 50+ years old serial entrepreneurs.

    Hi!
I recommend reading a lot of topics at first. Literally, 10-20 topics per day for a few weeks, starting from popular and then follow less popular.

In this way you can glean terms, rules, behavior and so on. In the end, you will understand how to use IH.

      thanks for the advice!

Don't build software/content for other entrepreneurs or Indie Hackers. Try to find an underserved B2B niche. The riches are in the niches.

    1. 1

Yet, the entrepreneurs are the easiest to reach out to.

Read and give back where you can. If someone asks for your opinion on their landing page, give them an opinion. Ask for advice as well. Just interact normally and don't post useless spam. :P

Yeah, I reviewed dozens of landing pages already, and damn... I'm very impressed by the quality of products that are being shipped by IH community

    Hi
How to collect data of top TikTok stars in the world through scraping. I found a plugin that works by putting the URL of the site and scrap. https://techbeast.pk/pakistani-tiktok-stars/
How we can scrap the data from multiple locations? I need help regarding this.

Hey! I'm in a similar position. I am trying to go about getting a web app developed for an idea I have for a startup. I'm going to start with a prototype for the proof of concept, and then use that to justify getting real software engineering.

Is this a good place to find advice on how I do it myself, or somebody with the skills willing to help? I've got so much strategy planned out; I just need to get the app created. I work in technical implementation so I know concepts, I just don't know any actual code.

Specifically, my prototype is a simple calendar where you can create a session with a range of dates, generate a URL to share with people, they indicate the dates they can do and you use the collected data to agree your event.

Apologies if this hijacking is against the etiquette.

Post and comment on something valuable for others.
Unlike social media, it's easy to get noticed here if your content makes sense.

P.S. If it's valuable, there is no problem with mentioning your tool or project if it helps.

welcome, well…i m new one here, and I was wondering how can I post?(seems like i need to reach some kind of milestone thing to unlock this feature) more than just comment....

    1. 2

You have to participate in the comments of a post for some time. A moderator should see that you're active and willing to contribute; you'll be granted full "access" soon after.
