I am gathering some comments and feedback about the viability of a new project I would like to start.
It is a Twitter growth platform, which would allow to schedule tweets, manage retweets and help users grow their brand with ease, automatically reposting most performant content.
I am aware that in the market we have Buffer.com, big whale, and 4/5 middle level services. I noticed, by the way, new services popping up in the last couple of months.
Since these new services came kind of out of nowhere, this makes me think that the market in not saturated yet, and there is still space for new comers.
Would be very useful to get some comments about this!
Would be wise to start?
Thanks!
I say no. You shouldn't be trying to automate what's supposed to be genuine communication between humans.
Good point. My idea is to keep the essence of Twitter untouched, which means let the users to focus on their content other then spending time of Twitter every day to grow their brand.
You can buy a script for $49 and self host. For basic apps I think it is very difficult to compete.
That would be a very dev-oriented solution. Most of the Twitter users, social marketers, are obviously not developers.
If you are a dev you can build anything, following your logic, no customer oriented services would exist.
There are scripts that let you sell it as a SaaS as well I think.
World is changing fast.
How do you plan on getting customers?
Ah, that's what my app https://zlappo.com does. If you can get people to switch from incumbents, give it a go. It's what I'm working real hard to do, and I welcome competition.
Buffer is very basic, as it's what you'd expect from a generalist tool, and it doesn't address a lot of idiosyncrasies unique to Twitter. The key lies in letting the user take as little action as possible (make it as un-overwhelming as possible to get results) while leveraging on features allowed by the Twitter API. There must be some killer feature that you can innovate that would achieve just that.
Good luck. 😉
Thanks for your comment. I was implicitly referring to your service and to another one I saw, HypeFury, when I mentioned "new services popping up in the last couple of months".
Skedlo, that you?
