New week: What's everyone working on?

It's a new week, what are you working on right now?

In order to escape the Levels/Postma hysteria going on over in Muskland, I'm looking for a healthy dose of positive energy from Indiehackers doing their thing.

Working on an iPhone-mini-sized Android phone (smallandroidphone.com)! 📱😀👏

    1. 4

      HARDWARE!!

With all the negativity around getting hardware startups off the ground, I have to root for you to succeed!

(are you Eric Migicovsky is disguise?)

      1. 5

Lol, I'm about 5 inches too short!

I'm one of the other Pebble peeps -- behind Pebble Core (RIP🪦) and all our Kickstarter campaigns :-)

People laugh when I say hardware is not that hard, but the way I look at is HW is consumer internet with a revenue model. Just throw in a big dash of patience, and you're all set 😂

Thanks for the support! Some fun updates coming soon.

I am building Extensionfy, a nocode tool that gives nocode developers the ability to build advanced & complex browser extensions without writing a single line of code.

I decided to build Extensionfy because there currently is no dedicated browser extension builder, and current options are very limited because they are built either on top of pre-existing tools or as extensions/plugins for them

    1. 3

This is great! Curious how you're thinking about the no-code approach to adding features... I'll keep an eye on the project. Very cool!
Check out what the guys at https://www.plasmo.com/ are doing

      1. 2

        Thanks!
It will be something like Bubble (my main inspiration!), but focused on building browser extensions instead of webapps. Including workflows, drag & drop UI builder, dynamic expression composer etc…

Plasma looks interesting, I will check it out!

    2. 2

Love this -- building extensions is so tedious!

    3. 2

Looks very promising! Do you have experience with building browser extensions prior to working on Extensionfy?

      1. 1

        Thank you @butler952!
Yes, I have been developing browser extensions as a freelancer for a few years.

    4. 1

Love this and its timely. Considering going down the browser extension route for a design QA tool idea. Just signed up

      1. 1

That is perfect! I’ll get back to you as soon as possible : )

    5. 1

I can see myself using this

  3. 3

Currently, I am working as a software engineer in a Fintech org.

In my free time, I am working on a side project that automatically generates videos with some data and it can do it n number of times. It's not using any ML or AI. Just plain code with custom styling and data handling. Haha.

  4. 3

Fixing some new-found bugs after launch on https://slashdreamer.com/

    1. 2

Awesome job on this so far, cool example of building new technology on top of an existing platform!

  5. 3

Right now I'm finalizing a first version of https://football-live-score.com/
This is a service to look at football results live and broadcasts football events to your favourite chat app: slack, discord or telegram.
I've launched the first version on web and android. iOS and macOS apps are in review with apple right now.

    1. 1

This is an awesome idea man!

    2. 1

As a football fan this is pretty cool!

Do you see this as a B2C or B2B thing?

      1. 2

good question. More B2C for communities. But also you can plug your own server which would be for professionals. For now it's all free. I'll add subs when I get some traction

  6. 3

Started up a newsletter few months ago at blog.parttimetech.io writing about part-time jobs in the tech industry. It's been a fun journey writing about a niche-ish space that I think is gonna grow. I've been learning a lot by networking with folks who have reached out and are interested in what I'm doing which is something I didn't expect but is making it worthwhile!

    1. 1

Pert time tech roles make so much sense, and they have the salary to justify it!

What are your next steps for PartTimeTech.io?

    2. 1

Would love to chat about part time work, can join any of these upcoming calls https://vibehut.io/rooms/627ebf908d36af0016687f24

  7. 3

Will be in this video call at 11am EST today going through these projects. Join me to chat

    https://vibehut.io/rooms/627ebf908d36af0016687f24

    1. 2

Nice one, I unfortunately have to work the ol' day job so can't join this time 🙃

      1. 1

What time works, I'll schedule another event

        1. 1

          I can do 15:00 ET / 19:00 GMT!

Luckily we're in that weird week where the UK and the US are only 4 hours apart 😅

          1. 1

Awesome, updated the event on the 3rd to 15:00 ET , RSVP see you then!

            1. 1

Ah I thought you meant today! I can do today or tomorrow evening but not Thursday

              1. 2

Ah! Ok made tomorrow, on the call now for todays at 11am !

                1. 2

Perfect, see you on the call tomorrow!

  8. 3

Just joined Indie Hackers. I’m working on updates to https://Vers.Social

    1. 2

Welcome to the Indie Hackers community!

      Looks cool—what's your one-line introduction to Vers.Social?

      1. 2

I would say my one-line introduction would be: social media as it should be. Simple and right to the point haha

        1. 1

Interesting—who do you think are your target users?

  9. 2

Late to the party, but I just launched ideaclarity.co/partners
A way for individuals to earn extra income whilst helping founders/startups validate their idea.

  10. 2

    My portfolio of small bets:

-> I'll finish building my Airtable Recommended Reading list pre-populated template for the small bets community

-> Continue updating my Business Idea Bank (a hand-curated list of revenue generating indie hackers, the products they are building, and their income)

  11. 2

I'm working on imaged on-prem service / sdk for image recognition, focusing on video analytics and e-commerce product search, this week I'm focusing on web site content, also looking for co-founder.

  12. 2

    Planning on my product launch

  13. 2

I'm working on nudges.fyi, a SaaS reminder tool for anyone who forgets important things all the time, even when using a regular todo list app.

    • The main focus is alerting: you set up a nudge, pick a trigger date & time, and you're notified via phone call, text message, and/or email
    • I spent a bunch of time implementing support for repeating reminders, so schedules like "the last Tuesday of every month" or "the second Sunday in May" are easy to configure

This was initially an app just for my family to use, but I've received some feedback that it may be more widely applicable, so I've stuck a landing page on it and I'm trying to validate this theory. 🙂

  14. 2

Currently working on my own blog which is https://eyupcanpoyraz.com/ . I have 3 different concepts of content such as articles, case studies and curation collections. Guess what? Indiehacker is one of top sources that I am getting traffic because I like how people behave here as positively all the time. Love you guys, love you indihackers 🧡

  15. 2

Currently working on mykomi, a platform to help creators with their commissions.

    • “link in the bio” style artist portfolio where customers can order from.
    • Customer provide their requirements up front to reduce overhead for the creator.
    • Order tracking with automatically customer updates as the it progresses.

    https://www.mykomi.app/

  16. 2

I am working on Chartpedia. (https://chartpedia.co)
It is saas app to create video infographics.
Here is an example infographic https://youtu.be/_vXDG-g_e2I

  17. 2

A new social platform to compete with the big dogs in the space, and offer a breath of fresh air. Come check us out!

    https://qwurty.com

  18. 2

My friend and I are working on a website where after registering you get a single line of code that if you paste into your website you will see a feedback button in the bottom right corner, here your users can give you feedback that you can view and manage on our site.

    https://fdbck.io/
Feel free to use this 50% coupon code: HACKERS50

    1. 3

This sounds awesome, one liner and a whole feature added!
I haven't gone through the documentation or anything(couldn't find any on your site, haven't registered)
quick question/suggestion: have you considered adding an easy way to modify ui elements of the feedback form?

      1. 2

        Thanks!
The integration guide pops up right after registering!
(Basically you get a script tag, and it says place in your page header)

We thought about making it customizable but until it proved to be a good idea we didn't do it.

      2. 1

        Hello!

After your reply, we decided to give the customization a shot and just implemented it.
While we separated the integration guide from the settings page for clarification!

        Thanks!

  19. 2

    I'm writing a three-time-a-week newsletter about AI. It's 20% jokes, 80% informative, 100% worth your time.

    https://boteatbrain.com/

  20. 2

I am currently creating mobile side of my project. I needed to build fast so I prefer to use React Native. For now I have 120+ Users. Most of them using by web browser but they mention to use as a mobile application. Monthly I am sending 5 millions request to check other services. I am enjoying to watch slowly grow up.

    Link : https://checkthe.website

P.S : It's a small and basic uptime monitoring tool.

    1. 1

Very cool—why did you choose this product to work on?

(Dark mode = Guaranteed success 📈)

  21. 2

Currently working on creating a plan with my Photography marketing and a few other things. Hope all is well with you!

    1. 1

Sounds like a good plan—do you have a link to the project?

  22. 2

I'm creating WorkWant that Make Your Work Much Easier.

    Link: https://www.workwant.com

WorkWant Photo Maker - a much simpler design tool online ( https://www.workwant.com/app/pp/ )

    1. 1

      Impressive amount of functionality!

  23. 2

Listybee , app that allows people create different kind(Travel, wish list, Excursion) of lists and collaborate seamlessly with others

    1. 1

Seems like a reasonable idea—why did you decide to work on this idea?

      1. 1

The idea came when we try to manage and share different list items for a travel with friends and it was a little bit struggle to maintain one list in a centralize location , that

    1. 1

Interesting, how are you hoping to monetise? Ads? Partnerships? Profit share with product placements? Something else?

  24. 2

the same thing we do every night, pinky Quite a few things in the fire right now, trying to cut down and really focus on one:

PodcastSaver - it does... what it sounds like
Unvalidated Ideas - I send out ideas for people who want to build startups
🆕 Nimbus Web Services - managed services for the cheaper clouds that indie hackers like to use (Hetzner, OVH, LeaseWeb)

    1. 2

Impressive multi-tasking skills and even more impressive Pinky and the Brain reference—I imagine there are a ton of people here who could benefit from Unvalidated ideas!

      1. 1

Hahah probably bad, I really need to focus on one thing and one thing only, but unfortunately some of the things I just... can't let go of (and are actively being used).

        A couple more:

        Waaard.com & Waaard For Login
        Awesome F/OSS

  25. 2

I am thinking of building a communication + tasks management tool for freelancers with a pay as you go model (which makes more sense for small projects) and I am currently collecting feedbacks/validations with a simple landing page!
    https://frecto.webflow.io/
I would appreciate if any feedback is given :)

  26. 2

Working on final touches before launching of www.livegenie.co a sales tool for SaaS businesses to convert website visitors into leads and turn free trial users into paying customers with +20% win rates.

    1. 2

Nice work—when do you hope to launch?

      1. 1

        In 2 weeks hopefully 🙏

    2. 1

Nice, is this based on your own STUN / TURN infrastructure?

  27. 2

    Hey Aaaron.

I am working on https://unwrapped.design/ and Supreme.
Building Free and premium digital resources for digital designers and web developers to supercharge your workflow.

    1. 1

Good stuff! What resources are you working on adding to those projects?

      1. 1

        Thank you :-).

Now I am working on a Saas for devs. So At the moment is going to be just this ones until I am ready with the current ones. Should be finished around march I would say.

        Thankl you again Aaron.

  28. 2

Hard at work building new features for the app and improving old ones. We just shipped a new release that was a major upgrade. We're also working on sorting through feedback.

    1. 1

      What 's your one-line summary of replayable.io?

      1. 1

We're a dashcam for the desktop, helping developers catch bugs and save time on explaining their work.

  29. 2

I just released GeoQuiz, a world geography game for iOS. Check it out if you feel like: GeoQuiz

    1. 1

There's something about geography and flags that has a never-ending appeal!

  30. 2

We finished the basic MVP of Roundup (http://roundup.co/) last week — an internal company forum for async discussions and knowledge sharing between co-workers. Now, I'm trying to get some eyeballs on the product to start Beta testing. I will spend some time reading about SEO and try to get it going for us. Will also post on twitter and reddit. Let's see if any of it works out.

    1. 1

      Cool concept!

What made you decide to work on this idea?

How do you see this fitting into a companies workflow alongside slack and notion (or similar products)?

      1. 1

        Well.

It first came out from a problem I felt myself in my day job.

I saw myself answering the same kind of questions, many times over in Slack, Meetings etc.

Then I went looking for tools that create internal forums. I deployed one such tool with my team. It was a big hit as more and more people started sharing knowledge there.

I asked around to a bunch of friends working in startups and big tech and they all seem to talk about how shitty their company intranets or forums are, and why they always preferred Slack or Meetings or Documents for knowledge sharing.

I felt this was a good problem to solve.

    1. 2

Hahaha I like it, sometimes building something for fun is exactly what we need—and who knows where it might go...

      1. 1

Working on this without any goals. And true who knows where it might go.

  31. 2

I just decided building niche site with my friend and have started thinking about ideas. On the other hand, I try learning glide-app because I am interested in no-code to turn my ideas into business. Also tomorrow, I have presentation that makes me stressed a little bit in my 9-6 job. Maybe after some time, I can share our links too. Hope!

    1. 1

The first step is getting started—good luck on your journey!

  32. 2

Dropped the price on my flowchart app yesterday because after raising the price a couple months back I stopped getting new customers. Now I'm trying to figure out where & how I can market it to jump-start the flow of customers again ...maybe Reddit? 🤷 I guess I'll find out this week!

    1. 1

      Really neat tool!

You hear so much about "raise your prices" that it kind of refreshing to hear an honest account of when it may not have worked

Where did your users used to come from?

      1. 1

You hear so much about "raise your prices"

Right! I was sure raising my prices wouldn't have that much of an effect 😂

My app gets good organic search traffic so customers tend to be people who just stumbled upon it. I guess that was lucky to begin with– time to actually go out and find some people who want to use it!

  33. 2

I'm working on launching apexpad.app, interview collaborating for salesforce apex programming language.

    1. 1

I can't pretend to know anything about Salesforce Apex but something B2B that I don't understand is probably a great business waiting to happen 😄

      1. 1

Initially I thought so. But, when I tried to find some users, I realized it's not that easy, lol. You sound like an encouragement to me. Thanks for that. :)

  34. 2

I'm getting ready to re-launch TrustyLinks – a free guest post matching service for product blogs.

I didn't realize how many people were looking for blog content rather than to write guest posts the first time around, so this version has the ability to sign up to either write or publish.

    1. 1

Blog content is in high demand!

How have you updated the product to encourage more writers?

  35. 2

Working on some much needed updates to GRW Investment Tracking!

Also waiting to be approved by the Google Play store for the first time 😬

    1. 1

Cool idea! What updates are you working on?

      1. 1

Thanks! Been grinding away on updating some messy UI stuff and cleaning up some of the code so it's easier to understand, nothing too crazy but long overdue!

Mainly playing the waiting game until I get some feedback from the Google Play store, then getting ready to make a marketing push 🤩

  36. 2

Rebuilding my podcast website from the ground up, should be done by this time next week

    https://baib-podcast.com/

    1. 1

Nice one, what made you want to make the change?

      1. 1

I'm tired of being embarrassed to share a link to the website because I suck at responsive web design😂

I'm watching a YT tutorial to help with that

    1. 1

Very impressive work! How long have you been working on this?

      1. 1

I just joined the small Togai team yesterday. The team has been working on it for a few months now

  37. 2

I'm building the MVP of my product called "Ask Me Anything" which is a tool for your audience to ask you anything.

    https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/ask-me-anything

    1. 1

Really nice way of helping out users and building SEO at the same time, very smart!

      1. 1

That's right! We want to help people spend less time and effort, but get much more value from each Q&A than before.

  38. 2

Working on a mockup for a new SaaS idea. Its similar to reviewtrackers but is more focused on the market gap aspect of things and generating more customer reviews.

    1. 1

What made you decide to work on this idea?

      1. 1

Honestly I got the idea from a youtube video by none other than MillionaireMillennial. Of course I developed my own implementation ideas and now I'm mostly polling the market a bit to verify the idea.

Another interesting factor may be that I am developing this for the German market. There is not really anything like it here.

  39. 2

Right now I am working on a better alternative to Quora/ResearchGate.

    1. 1

Nice one, what made you want to work on this?

      1. 1

Neither provide what scholars really need. Mine will 🤞🏽

  40. 2

Working on Promptsss.com. Actually launched the BETA today! Trying to make the best place to help people store all their AI art from different platforms in one spot.

    1. 1

Seen some amazing AI art recently so I can see this having merit!

Is it sort of a pinterest of AI art or are art pieces unique like an NFT?

      1. 1

Fingers crossed. Looking for more of a Pinterest type for now. I've seen a lot that have in house discovery, but I'm attempting to bridge them all together. Hopefully a browser extension would allow people to easily add to their collections from all generation platforms.

  41. 2

Thanks to the app, I'm still consistently working on my todo app for ADHD individuals, but anyone can use it.

This time I did things "right," or at least better than my last project, and have about 50 beta testers. I iterate from every two days to every week at the latest.

    https://www.divergentapp.com/

    1. 1

      Interesting X for X example!

What made you want to work on this? Are you your own user or do you know someone close who has ADHD?

      1. 1

Yes, the last startup failed because I wasn't solving a problem I was familiar with.

I suffer from ADHD, so I am the perfect user, and I know a lot of apps don't fit our needs.

The paradox is that people with ADHD barely finish anything before starting a new project (shiny coin syndrome), so we don't have any good apps for people with ADHD.

Also, most UI is super bad and hard to understand. Sometimes when I download an app for inspiration or a different perspective, the UI is so clunky and unintuitive that I get overwhelmed and delete the app immediately.

Or if the UI is good (few apps), they have so much functionality or options that I end up not using them.

    1. 1

Automatically analysing your own reviews and your competitors reviews is genius!

Signed up for early access 😄

      1. 1

        Thanks, and awesome! :)

  42. 2

I'm working on easy, secure a user authentication company @vaultvisioncom https://vaultvision.com. We are a login-as-a-service company that offers next generation 'passwordless' option through FIDO2 security keys. With our product your app can allow users to login with their face, fingerprint or PIN rather than a password.

    1. 1

      Oh that's neat!

How long have you been working on this?

      1. 1

We have been building this for about 1 year. If you know of anyone looking to improve their app's or website's user authentication and login flows to make it easier and more secure for the user, let me know. We are currently onboarding applications and sites to be case studies where we document the benefits and integration story.

  43. 2

I am newbie on indie hacker. I am working on https://linkedcamp.com . it is a LinkedIn Lead Generation Automation Tool.

    1. 1

I'm so uninformed when it comes to Linkedin outreach! What kinds of people do you see as your target users for LinkedCamp?

      1. 1

        we target B2B and B2C

  44. 2

Working on Glyph that sends curated & personalized freelance leads straight to the inbox. www.glyphleads.com

    1. 1

Nice work! Are there any particular type of roles that you're having success with at the moment?

      1. 1

Hey @butler952 I’ve started with 4 roles at moment which are Content writing, Graphic Design, SEO & Website Development. So far content writing & SEO roles are fore front than others in terms of number of freelancers subscribing to the service!

  45. 2

I am working toward the beta of Instant Feedback, a two click way to build microforms and collect feedback https://instant-feedback.click?ref=ihc

    1. 2

Anything that helps us to get more feedback from users is always welcome!

Why did you decide to work on this idea?

      1. 1

Thanks :). I was always frustrated with the existing tools in this space. They either look old and overloaded or are full of features, which makes them hard to use. With Instant Feedback I try to build a tool that finds a good trade off between features and simplicity. In times where the attention span of users gets less (TikTok, …), we need feedback tools that adapt to the new user behavior and try to be as simple and fast as possible. I also hope that making it easy to create these forms, encourages more developers/website owners/etc. to collect feedback.

  46. 2

Nango, an open-source project to sync data from any external API to your (local) DB with a single line of code:
    Nango.sync('https://any.rest.api/any/endpoint');

    It handles:

    • incremental syncs (deduplication, upserts, change detection)
    • Pagination & rate-limits
    • Detecting schema changes
    • Data transformation & storing it in the DB of your choice
Github has a quickstart you can try in 3 minutes: https://github.com/NangoHQ/nango

Fairly new project so any and all feedback is appreciated :)

    1. 1

Sounds very powerful! Are there any cool use cases for this that people are already doing?

      1. 1

Native integrations in SaaS products is the main use case currently:
Sync a customer's CRM contacts, stripe transactions, shopify orders etc. to your product (think mailchimp continuously importing your CRM contacts).

About 80% of what native integrations do is syncing in data from external systems on behalf of the user. Currently every team is re-building this infrastructure, we aim to change that ;)

  47. 2

I'm not a coder but I guess I would call myself a creative. I've spent a lot of time on cosumer based platforms of all different mediums, and I've come to a realization that a lot of these platforms don't make it easy for users to grow a personal brand. They typically productive you and advertise you amongst others to promote their own product.

I'm currently outsourcing a project that will help users build a brand, grow, and share. It's ideally meant to be easily built on top of your existing platforms. I’d love some feedback on issues that you guys and gals have potentially had with establishing your own brand on other platforms and what you believe could help.

    1. 1

Interesting, what kinds of people do you think would be most likely to use this?

      1. 1

The product will serve well for many users who already have an audience or are actively working on building one. The general answer is Freelancers & Creatives that want to build a brand and a platform. Content creators (twitch, youtube, podcast), designers, creative sellers (Etsy, Fiverr, upwork), and small business professionals, people who are working on a new project and want to show people what it does. However, that's much too broad and I need to target whoever gives it the most attention.

    2. 1

Do you have a link to the project?

      1. 1

I have a figma prototype that I could show you.

        https://www.figma.com/proto/RaKIfgVo0S4v8Hyh61JJ22?node-id=1:6&starting-point-node-id=1:6&comments-enabled=1

Since it's a web app, it's optimized for a mobile as well.

Essentially, I'm building a platform so freelancers and creators can have a platform for whatever they need to grow.

        1. 1

Checked out the figma, looks good, what are the next steps? happy to chat about it during open co-working hours https://vibehut.io/rooms/627ebf908d36af0016687f24

          1. 1

Awesome! I'm currently at work but could jump on a call periodically throughout the day

    1. 1

Ohh nice one! I like the simple Use Cases page (https://spacesformac.xyz/#usecases), nice little way to provide examples of ways to use the product and to establish who your most promising target market might be.

I wonder what the most commonly tapped workspace is?

      1. 1

Work and Personal is the name more commonly used

  48. 2

Currenlty working in local travelling platform (Manitoba, Canada).

    1. 1

Love this, great example of a niche to start out with!

What made you want to build this idea in particular?

      1. 2

In my area in order to plan your weekend or find good events you need to spend time gathering information (museums sites, outdoor events, festivals,...)

So the idea was to consolidate all events and activities in 1 place. The are a lot of ideas down the road, but need to start with the basics :)

        1. 1

Makes sense, best of luck to you my friend!

  49. 2

I'm working on creating a new stablecoin in crypto that's actually backed by dollars... and not overcollateralized like mad.
I am trying to add "healthy" infrastructure into this ecosystem and then to build on top of it.

    1. 1

Cool -- these guys run a weekly call about crypto, they would prob like to chat about your project https://vibehut.io/rooms/62c36945ce2b2c0016c5d665

    2. 1

That sounds like a lot of work for sure—best of luck dude!

  50. 2

Started with indie hacker and its amazing also starting on a new tool where one can not only collect feedback efficiently but users can be part of the whole design development and launch experience...! fingers crossed lets hope for the best...!

    1. 1

That sounds super useful—look forward to seeing the progress!

  51. 2

Working on publishing 3 new workspaces on https://www.workspaces.xyz/ and growing the subscriber base 🤘

    1. 2

Interesting concept and really cool workspace inspiration!

Out of curiosity, have you monetised the newsletter?

      1. 2

        Yeah!

I was previously offering sponsorships (and was earning $2,000 per month) with slots sold out months in advance.

The newsletter was actually acquired in June and I joined the acquiring team as their Head of Content to continue to project among other things.

Part of the acquisition was that we put a pause on sponsorships to focus solely on growing the subscriber base.

        1. 2

          Amazing—congratulations on the acquisition! 🙌

Are you thinking about the next thing to build or are you solely focused on Workspaces for now?

          1. 1

Well... focusing on Workspaces as well as https://loops.so/ now (the acquisition made me employee #1)

I'll likely tinker on side projects again in the near future but I'm pretty tied up with those two right now!

    2. 1

Hey -- I'd love to chat, what's the best way to connect? Feel free to DM me on Twitter @1dolinski

      1. 1

My Twitter and other ways to get in touch with me are pretty public on here :)

  52. 2

I am launching The Startup Bible - a collection of the best tweets to help you run your business, because "everything you need to learn about growing your business is available online".

In the curation phase at the moment, and hoping for a product hunt launch in a few weeks.

Really stuck with how to present this database, currently using Airtable but it's not as slick as I'd like!

    1. 1

I'm intrigued by infoproducts like this; it's really not something I'd considered building.

Best of luck with your journey!

      1. 2

Neither did I! My Etsy infoproduct did well so I am hooked on this business model

        Thank you

        1. 1

That's really cool that you've got the model to work!

          What was the Etsy infoproduct?

          1. 1

Notion templates. I should have spent more time on it - Look at Easlo.
Oh well, as they say, hindsight is 2020. Moving on to the next.

  53. 2

I'm working on a platform that serves as a hiring marketplace for creators and influencers with brands. We are still early age but you can check us out if you're looking for influencers to reach a wider audience for all your amazing products :)

    https://dropdown.buzz/

    1. 1

Great idea—I'm sure there are people in this community that could make great use of this service!

      Is the service live?

      1. 2

Yes! We are already getting jobs from clients in US, Japan and India for creators on the platform. We want to build a space for micro and nano creators (as they have a better engagement ratio ~ helpful for businesses).

Link to the platform - Dropdown : https://dropdown.buzz/

Launched my startup PlushForums 8 years ago and been running it full-time ever since.

Today I'm trying to launch https://babble.im

Only this time I have a wife, kid and dog. Everything feels harder 😃

Babble is a somewhat new forum concept, kind of like the WhatsApp of forums but on the open web. Tried to get the UX as near-native as possible.

Good luck to everyone working at the coalface this Tuesday. I did it once, I can do it again and so can you!

    1. 2

Amazing stuff, congratulations on being able to successfully run a startup for 8 years (and counting)!

What led you to decide to launch the new venture now?

      1. 2

        Because it's finished 😁

Seriously though, just came out of private beta for some existing clients. Platform is seriously stable and tested, complete opposite of MVP. Mainly because we can't handle the all-nighters and baptism of fire that was our last launch in 2014!

        1. 1

Haha as good a reason as any! Why did you decide to work on the new idea at all?

          1. 1

When you've carved out your niche in a market, why not go for a second bite?

You can always attack a problem from a different angle, or design a new creative expression around a similar concept. It might do better or worse in the marketplace, and we truly hope it does well. But we build because we like to build.

    1. 1

Traditional online newspaper—there's indie hacking project you don't see everyday!

Why did you decide to work on this?

  55. 2

I'm working on a platform for crypto discovery in the early stages, before they are listed on bigger platforms. It aims to help people do their research to find the best coins. The site is coming soon.

    1. 1

Sounds like an interesting problem to tackle, I suppose your competitors right now are Reddit and Twitter?

      1. 1

haha, didn't saw it that way, but yeah you could say so. At least they're not specifically designed for that.

  56. 2

    Working on SEO for https://krumzi.com

Even though we just launched, I know that SEO efforts will not be visible straight away, so I would rather start doing it earlier than later.

    1. 2

Nice one—what kind of activities are you doing to improve your SEO?

      1. 2

Some of the activities are already done, but this week I'll be working on:

        • Doing some keyword research as we are thinking about changing our LP copywriting
        • Creating a changelog page with release notes
        • Creating a blog page (writing the articles is a different story though 😅)

Also just recently managed to implement dynamic URLs for job search page based on search criteria (the URL, the page title, h1, description and so on automatically changing based on the selected filters)

        1. 2

Writing the articles is always the painful part 😫

The changelog is an interesting idea, what made you decide to look into building that for SEO?

          1. 1

I've recently started seeing a lot of fellow founders adding a changelog page for their SaaS, so I decided that I'm gonna do it as well. Besides, it is a great way to keep your users updated on the new features.

  57. 2

I'm working on https://churnfree.com, the best customer retention tool that helps businesses to retain their customers and grow their revenue by reducing customer churn rate...

This tool is best for the SaaS, eCommerce, and Membership businesses it can save up to 46% on business cancel requests.

You can try 14 days free trail for your business.

    1. 1

Hot damn—very nicely polished website you have there!

What are you working on for Churnfree this week?

  58. 2

Writing blog posts to help build knowledge around our brand and product. It's exhausting to be honest. And because it's security, then it might be out of date by tomorrow, but worthwhile if it helps give some inspiration or a fresh idea. I think it takes me a week or two to write a single post, which ends up getting rewritten about 10 times and then find a typo about 5 minutes after it's gone live!!

First post a few weeks back https://kinde.com/blog/security/security-at-kinde and then just dropped the start of a 12 part series https://kinde.com/blog/security/protecting-your-identity-with-mfa-password-managers-and-sso

    1. 1

I feel your pain when it comes to writing blog posts, I know it's super valuable but I find it such a drag to write them.

Yours look like an excellent length and have some great outbound links within them!

I suppose if you're struggling to get blog posts out there fast enough, you could try writing short ones, see how they rank in google and then double down on improving or writing longer ones around the ones that are more successful. But I'm sure there are much better SEO experts in this community to ask about that!

      1. 2

Thanks for the feedback. Wow, this post is HOT. Good luck with all the replies!

        1. 1

Literally, exhausted with trying to keep up with replies 😂

  59. 2

built a new navigation to highlight templates: bannernote.com

    1. 1

Bannernote looks great and you have a very impressive portfolio of clients, super valuable social proof right there!

Good idea to highlight templates too

  60. 2

Working on the advanced notification features for https://www.kloudmate.com

    1. 2

The KloudMate website look super slick!

What are you planning to notify users about?

      1. 2

Users will get slack notifications in real-time if any error occurs in their serverless stack.

  61. 2

I am working on validating the idea of a "Marketplace for Electronic Insurance providers" like mobile, TV or any type of electronic gadgets where you can get info of the providers and type of services they are providing

    1. 1

Nice idea, what led you to decide to work on this idea in particular?

      1. 2

I have faced the problem myself because for finding data on a device there are plenty of options available but when searching for the correct insurance provider we don't have any platform which is providing this type of info.

        1. 1

Scratching your own itch sounds like a good place to start—best of luck!

  62. 2

Improving our algorithm ahead of our MVP launch over at https://www.imsurf.in

    1. 2

Nice manifesto! What made you decide to work on this idea?

      1. 2

Thanks Butler. It came very much from the heart - all of the founding team had benefitted from relationships that came about purely by chance. We've all also known what it's like to suffer from great loneliness.

We wanted to create a tool that put the mean to manifest life-changing meetings in users hands, and in doing so begin the slow march towards the eradication of all loneliness. After all, if you can make a new friend with just three taps on an app, it's a lot harder to feel lonely.

        1. 1

With loneliness on the rise, I can see a place for this—good luck!

  63. 2

Working on yet another todo list management app, but with dependencies instead of sublists. This week, I'll be adding Oauth from external services and updating the product's logo.

    https://mondage.com

    1. 1

There might be blood in the water but it's hard to argue that it's not a market!

How are you planning on finding potential customers?

      1. 2

Asking, posting and pestering by any means necessary to get eyeballs.

There are so many options out there, which of course means things are competitive, but it also means there's room to compete.

        1. 1

Love the tenacity—do you have any favourite channels in which to do your posting and pestering?

          1. 1

I'm super early in the process, so friends and family and here, but hopefully a few more avenues soon (betalists, reddit, HN etc.)

  64. 2

I am doing a 3rd major rewrite adding AI powered copywriting and translation functionality to a translation management tool. Surprised how beneficial OpenAI is and I hope this can become the “killer” feature that sells the product. Product has changed massive during the last months.

Currently launched behind feature flag, hope to put it live later this week. Then I will do marketing 🤞🏻.

    Site: git18n.com

    1. 2

Really nice—I'm not expert in this area but it looks like this idea has legs!

What marketing are you planning on doing?

      1. 1

Thanks, my sense is also that is actually quite beneficial to a lot of customers. I have been using mainly Reddit and shared my site on Betalist. I will continue with Reddit for sure and also focus SEO and possible LinkedIn.

        I found Twitter worthless 😂.

        You got any recommendations?

  65. 2

      1. 2

        Thanks!

I am adding the resources daily + expanding the type of content (I will add a list of free online webinars once I have a new website). By time, I hope to have a list that can cover all major topic for indie hackers!

We are working on ERA - The New Era Of Note-Taking.

ERA is your high-performance note-taking hotspot to create, write and organise your notes and documentation.

    We focus on:

    • Privacy - All your notes are stored locally on your machine.
    • Simplicity - You open it the first time and you know what to do. No learning or documentation is needed.

ERA is in beta, you can check it out for free.

    1. 2

Very nice, who are / who do you expect your first customers to be?

      1. 2

Mostly we targeting developers - currently we have 350 users using ERA :-)

        1. 2

          Awesome start—best of luck!

  68. 2

I'm going to create a new 'Getting Started' flow for when people add their site in Squeaky. 75% of users manage to get their site verified and capturing data without any support really, but I'd love to push that to 80% by the end of the year!

Alongside that, there are various small things:

    • Finalise some unresolved stuff from Q3 invoicing
    • Demoing to q potential new customer
    • Watching a webinar that will hopefully help me get my outbound sales sequences running properly

    What about you @butler952 ?

    1. 2

I'm working on improvements to https://vitaely.me (turn your Linkedin profile into a landing page in two minutes) at the moment.

      Next things:

      • Creating new profile templates
      • Custom domains
      1. 2

Nice, I've thought about that same idea a few times. Even recently, when I redid my personal website, I based the data structure roughly on LinkedIn data in case I ever wanted to explore the idea :)

Would be good to showcase what the pages/templates actually look like on your site - personally, I'd be reluctant to pass my LinkedIn data to a third party without knowing what I'd be getting.

        Good luck this week!

        1. 1

Really interesting that you modelled the data structure of your own site on Linkedin.

Great suggestion on showing off the templates, I appear to have fallen into the trap of being reluctant to show off everything about the product before I'm truly proud of it... I'll get templates and more information added on the landing page soon!

          1. 2

I'm sure it's an improvement on LinkedIn aesthetically, and likewise, the value prop of it being a standalone web page is still relevant regardless of what it looks like :)

            1. 1

Subjectively I would like to say: yes it is more aesthetically pleasing 😅

I've not been too sure whether to lean into the resume angle or more of the fancy resume side of things. I'll create templates for both and see what happens!

    2. 2

Wow, at first glance Squeaky looks incredible—really nice attention to detail everywhere!

What's been your journey up until this point with Squeaky? How did you get started?

      1. 2

Oh thanks :) We actually wrote about our first 12 months a few weeks back for our blog if you're interested! Very product and ux-focused rather than marketing, sales or growth.

        1. 1

Holy shit—just skimmed through and looks like incredibly valuable content. I'll give it a full read later today.

Also, you've only been going just over a year 😱 Truly inspirational what you've been able to build in that time!

          1. 2

Sorry yeah, it's a bit long 😅 I was sort of using it as an opportunity to mark/celebrate the milestone of being 1 year old by writing some longer content, but also I wanted to document some of it before we forgot it all in years to come in case it's helpful for others charting their own path!

  69. 2

I pulled my credit report from MYFICO and it gave me the usual report. However, when I went to my bank to apply for a small loan they said there is no credit history of my Equifax report and when I contacted Equifax directly they said the same thing. I have to write SKYLINK CYBER SERVICES via [email protected] in less than 16days my report was corrected and my score raised to 815, yes I doubted at first until it was pulled again at the bank and I was qualified for the loan this time. All thanks to them.
