Newslater: a newsletter generator
Hi all,
I've built the MVP of my newsletter generator app, Newslater, and I am looking for people to give it a try and provide some feedback.
The app is free, has no ads, and available on Android and iOS:

This is inspired by my ability to collect articles that I wanted to read, but never getting around to reading them. It works by you adding the articles you want to read to your reading list, and Newslater will create you a personalized newsletter and email it to you at a time you choose. My aim was to create tl;dr newsletter from articles you are actually interested in.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and first impressions :)
Love the idea. I actually wanted something just like this for a while, and thought of building it myself, but didn't end up pursuing it..
I would love if this worked on the desktop (perhaps as an extension, or just on the site) since I spend most my time on the computer, and use that time to read articles/blogs/newsletters as well.

Thanks for checking it out and for the feedback! Yes a web version was on my list, but I probably should bump it up in priority. I'll let you know when a web version is available as it would be great to get your feedback.

Is it going to be summarized or the whole article?
FYI..some of the images on website didn't show.
You get a summary of each article in your newsletter and a link to the actual content; this is an example of one that was generated - https://newslater.co/engineering-newsletter. I'm currently looking at improving the generated summaries/newsletter so it includes a bit more content.

I think as per the recent GenAI boom, you will definitely make the summaries more better and crisp. Good luck with that.
i like the app ideasm, but i am just imagining my self making another reading list of the articles i have already saved.
maybe if there is a feature where users can summarize the aeticle will be cool!

As in you get an instant summary of an article when you save it? If so I was looking at adding a feature just like that
yes, like when you paste an article in chatgpt and ask it to summarize it!
tl;dr: Freshrss, Obsidian, Chatgpt
FreshRSS to get the articles
Obsidian to save the articles that interests me
this process is done in phone.
and then in the morning i just browse my Obsidian note from pc and copy paste the articles in chatgpt for a summary.
if you like to implement a chatgpt option in your app you need to either prepare your wallet (maybe make the summary option behind paywall) or make an option for users to add their openai api key (openai has a free plan but you need to add a credit card first; but it's not viable for a lot of requests iirc)
also chatgpt is not that good for making summaries of big articles so you need to chunk it up!

I believe you'll have to create the web version no matter what to succeed.
The idea of a newsletter is always good, but keep in mind that you have a lot of competition. You'll have to think of different ways to stand out

No plans as such to monetise, very keen to keep it free. I may add a premium tier for certain features in the future if the demand is there e.g. more summaries in a newsletter, but nothing planned for now.
